Designer collaboration: H&M HOME invites you to welcome a Diane von Furstenberg-inspired world into your home

“My secret wish for the collection is that one of the pieces will hide in the intimacy of your life and your home. And when you look at it, it will wink at you — and you will think of me,” – Diane von Furstenberg.

Fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg urges fans to “own it” when it comes to their interior style and her collaboration with H&M HOME certainly allows them to do that.

Known for her creative approach to colour and pattern, the Belgian designer made a name in the 1970s. Her most
famous piece is the wrap dress, first introduced in 1974. Being easy to wear and so versatile, it’s now in its fifth decade of dressing women. Dressing — and empowering them, says Diane von Furstenberg.

“When I was growing up, I didn’t know what I wanted to do, but I knew what kind of woman I wanted to be. I wanted to be a woman in charge. And I became that woman in charge because of a dress. And because of that dress, other women became in charge. And so little by little, when people say, ‘Who do you design for?’ I always say, ‘I design for the woman in charge’.”

The wrap dress has had a wide range of different prints over the years, many of them as iconic as the garment itself. And now these prints can take place in your home. The interior details in the H&M HOME collection are all adorned with bold patterns and colours.

Diane von Furstenberg x H&M HOME collection consists of bold prints that von Furstenberg is renowned for, such as zebra and leopard print, a kissable lip pattern and Diane’s abstract signature lettering. The 31-piece collection includes a range of interiors and decorative items including: wool blankets, cushion covers, boxes, trays, candles, espresso cups, small plates, vases, pots, posters and a robe.

The Diane von Furstenberg x H&M HOME collaboration encourages the world to express themselves in their space and take charge of their interiors.

Key design pieces include wool double-sided blankets that drape over the bed or sofa, decorative printed boxes to store your treasures, lacquer-like trays and a range of scented candles housed in printed glass to place elegantly around the house. Von Furstenberg’s favorite scent – amber – is featured in each of the large candles in the collection, while the four smaller ones are unique interpretations of cedarwood, sandalwood, amber and pine – personally chosen by Diane herself. Sets of espresso cups and saucers sit beautifully in the kitchen, while the pink and orange colored round glass vases look stunning in any room, especially when filled with fresh spring flowers. In a luxurious robe featuring the famed ‘Diane’ print, stroll past the posters with inspirational quotes from von Furstenberg herself.

“The prints in the H&M HOME collaboration are very iconic. The ‘Diane’ print I created 20 years ago when I started the company, while the lips print comes from the painting Andy Warhol did of me. Personally, I love animal prints – zebra is very DVF – and also vibrant orange and pinks, but monochrome black and white is very chic, too. The whole collection is fabulous, and I can’t wait to share it with everyone,” said Diane von Furstenberg.

The accompanying campaign was shot in von Furstenberg’s vibrant home and styled by the designer herself, an authentic expression of personal style.
