Until the 14th of April, inside the Opificio 31 event space at Via Tortona 31 in Milan, design enthusiasts are able to freely access the showroom and take a close look at a selection of the objects created by Italdesign’s Industrial Design Division, in partnership with international clients: the brand-new Faema E71E professional espresso machine, the Okamura Finora office chair, and the Oxolodge Oxolodgy Glitch table, made from ten-thousand-year-old wood.

The objects on display also include genuine industrial design concepts: Esasit, a series of stackable hexagonal chairs, and Bodyfriend Ombra, a carbon-fiber chaise longue with massage function, developed in partnership with Alcantara, the microfiber material manufacturer based in Milan, Italy.

The latest Italdesign concept car, the DaVinci, just back from the Geneva Motor Show, is also on display for the first time in Italy. To celebrate receiving the Red Dot Award for product design, a special edition of the Faema E71E, painted the same color as the bodywork of the DaVinci, is on show inside a special display case, while an operational model is used to offer espresso tastings.

“We take on a huge number of projects in the Industrial design Division, which are all very different from one another,” stated Nicola Guelfo, Head of Industrial design. “For our first year at Milano Design Week 2019, we decided to bring along a small selection which, on the one hand, fitted in with the topic of the exhibition, and on the other best represented our proclivity for all-round functional design, our desire to experiment and the combination between style, ergonomics and technology.”
