Zaha Hadid Designs £100,000 Water and Ice-Themed Coffee Table

World famous architect Zaha Hadid, the first women to win the prestigious Pritzker Architecture Prize (2004), designed “Liquid Glacial” – a £100,000 water and ice-themed coffee table. Crafted from a new-fangled acrylic resin, the innovative furniture piece mimics melting and moving plates of ice and spring water swirls. The table can be also separated into two small end tables.

The table is shortlisted for 2013 London Design Museum awards in the furniture category. The table is part of a series of four pieces currently on display at the London’s David Gill Galleries.

Gill’s gallery and Zaha Hadid have a long-standing partnership. Gill played an important role in the design career by commissioning Hadid’s first foray into furniture (‘Dune Formations’ series of wall-shelving, tables and benches).
