Bentley Motors announces the appointment of Robin Page as the new Director of design, commencing 1 September 2023.

Bentley Motors, the renowned British luxury car manufacturer, has made a significant change in its leadership team with the appointment of Robin Page as the new Director of Design, effective from September 1, 2023. Page brings with him a wealth of experience in automotive design, spanning over three decades, including his notable contributions to the Volvo Car Group.

During his tenure at Volvo, Page held several key roles, including Volvo Head of Global Design and UX, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the design language for Volvo’s electric lineup. His expertise and innovative approach were instrumental in creating visually striking and technologically advanced vehicles that have garnered widespread acclaim.

However, Page is no stranger to Bentley, having previously served as the Head of Interior Design for the company from 2001 to 2013. It was during this period that he made significant contributions to Bentley’s iconic models, such as the first-generation Continental GT, the opulent Bentley Mulsanne, and even the State Limousine for the Royal Monarch. These achievements showcased his exceptional talent for crafting luxurious and elegant interiors that befit Bentley’s heritage and reputation.

In his new role, Page will report directly to Adrian Hallmark, Bentley’s Chairman and CEO, working closely with him to shape the future direction of the brand. Hallmark expressed his delight in welcoming Page back to Bentley, highlighting the pivotal role he played in the launch of the game-changing Continental GT. Moreover, Hallmark emphasized the significance of Page’s appointment at a time when Bentley is rapidly progressing towards its ambitious goal of full electrification by 2030. With his extensive experience in automotive design and his deep understanding of the Bentley brand, Page is expected to contribute significantly to Bentley’s journey toward sustainable luxury mobility leadership.

Based at Bentley’s headquarters in Crewe, UK, Page will lead a talented team of around 50 design experts. His responsibilities will encompass the exterior, interior, and color and trim design for the entire Bentley product portfolio, including current and future models, as well as concept and showcars. This comprehensive oversight positions Page as a key figure in shaping Bentley’s design language and ensuring a seamless transition as the company embraces electric vehicles while maintaining a sense of continuity with its rich heritage.

Commenting on his return to Bentley, Page expressed his deep connection to the brand, having worked there for 17 years in the past. He emphasized the privilege of being entrusted with the task of defining the design language for Bentley’s first Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), acknowledging the challenge of redefining the rules while staying true to Bentley’s legacy and current offerings. His appointment marks an exciting chapter for Bentley as it navigates the evolving landscape of luxury electric vehicles.

Page’s appointment comes as Tobias Sühlmann, the previous Director of Design, departs Bentley to pursue new opportunities. While Sühlmann’s contributions were valuable, Bentley looks forward to a fresh perspective under Page’s leadership.

As Bentley sets its sights on an electrified future, the industry eagerly awaits the unveiling of the brand’s upcoming electric models under Robin Page’s creative direction. With his extensive experience, exceptional design sensibilities, and commitment to Bentley’s legacy, Page is poised to make a lasting impact and further cement Bentley’s position as a pioneer in sustainable luxury mobility.
