The drones can do 3D mapping and became more independent, say 2023 Innovation Award Honorees. The CES Innovation Awards is an annual competition honoring outstanding design and engineering in consumer technology products.

Take a look at these three winners in the Drones & Advanced Air Mobility category:

DROW 4D Lapse By @CLROBUR

DROW 4D Lapse By CLROBUR – Drone Photo & Videography Automation Solution

The commercial drone industry has been gaining lots of attention not only in Korea, but it continues to steal the spotlight worldwide. In the near future, it has high expectations to create valuable drone services such as logistics & delivery, smart farming, smart city and urban air mobility.

CLROBUR dreams of skies crowded with various unmanned vehicles in the future. In order to achieve that dream, CLROBUR is taking small steps to make that futuristic fantasy become a reality.

DROW 4D Lapse is a web-based application where any drone can be autonomize to take photos of objects or buildings for 3D mapping, facility management, or inspection. Instead of manually setting waypoints, the drone’s flight path is automated using AI and a 3D point cloud of the object. The drone captures 4D data, meaning 3D data plus a timelapse of all previous data to note any changes in the object over time.

The DROW4D Lapse forms a point cloud to generate optimal flight information for your situation by considering terrain, space, weather, wind, building information, farmland, industrial land, and residential areas.

@Skydio Scout By @Skydio

Skydio Scout By Skydio – Obtain drone overwatch on the move with Scout, and advanced team awareness and coordination with ATAK integration.

A Flying Camera that Automatically Moves with You

Scout allows the operator to fly at a set distance and height from either the Skydio Enterprise Controller or the Skydio Beacon while on the move — all without having to manually operate the drone. Set the location of the drone in relation to the tracked device, initiate Scout, and the drone will maintain its position in relation to the device as it moves.

Skydio’s unmatched obstacle avoidance makes for worry free flying while maintaining a set distance from the GPS location and camera direction, even without line of sight.

Skydio Scout makes your operations easier in a few key ways:

  • The Skydio Scout skill does not require the drone to “look” at its tracked GPS position. That means you can place the drone anywhere in 3D space and position the camera to focus on what you care about, all while following the tracked GPS position.
  • Skydio Scout lets you seamlessly reposition the drone while a tracked subject or GPS position is in motion. No need to position the camera while manually trying to keep up with a moving subject in congested environments.
  • Scout makes it easy to reposition the drone and keep eyes around a moving subject.

@SkySafe Cloud

SkySafe Cloud By SkySafe announces a new era of drone safety

SkySafe Cloud leverages a comprehensive, city-wide sensor network to provide organizations with the data to detect, identify, track and analyze the drones in their airspace, without the need to acquire, install, or maintain expensive hardware.

“When clueless, careless, or criminal drone activity enters your airspace, you want to know about it. SkySafe’s unparalleled technology allows us to support more and more organizations with their counter-drone (C-UAS) efforts every day.” – SkySafe

“SkySafe’s core technology is built on a deep understanding of drone communication protocols. We don’t just identify targets, we collect critical data to enhance threat analysis and assessment too. Beyond threats, we work to enable the safe deployment of commercial drones through proprietary technology, paving the way for a better future.” – added SkySafe.
