The distinctive yellow color became identified Maison Veuve Clicquot. There are several hypotheses about why yellow was chosen, but the one thing that is certain is that with this visual innovation Veuve Clicquot was ahead of its time, transcending current practices and auguring the advent of what would later become known as “marketing”…

In 2014, to celebrate this major innovation in the history of the Maison, Veuve Clicquot has revisited its iconic label while of course retaining the essence… yellow.

The instantly recognizable yellow label on all Veuve Clicquot brut Yellow Label champagnes marks its 140th anniversary this year. Synonymous with Veuve Clicquot for nearly a century and a half, the color evokes the heritage of the Maison and its never-ending quest for innovation and daring audacity.
The distinctive yellow color became identified Maison Veuve Clicquot-

In 1850, Madame Clicquot agreed to a minimalist first white label, a first in the world of champagne, recognizing the advantages in as the Maison grew around the world. This label was quickly followed by another when, with the rising popularity from the mid-19th century of sec, or dry champagnes with less sugar, Veuve Clicquot decided to label the bottles with a color that would distinguish them from other cuvées. And thus the famous yellow label was born in 1877.

Over the years the label took on a more intense, almost orange hue, making it easier to recognize Veuve Clicquot champagne in dark wine cellars. In 1945, Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Sec was renamed Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Brut, dressed in the Yellow Label we know today, carrying on a tradition that thrives 140 years later.

LVMH's RIMOWA high-end luggage has opened its first flagship store in Paris

Last October, RIMOWA, one of the leaders of the high quality luggage, joined the LVMH luxury Group, the European multinational luxury goods conglomerate, owner of Dior, Bulgari, Louis Vuitton, and Veuve Clicquot among other 60 subsidiaries.

RIMOWA, the first high-end German Maison to join the LVMH Group, has inaugurated its first flagship store at 73 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, opposite the Hotel Bristol. The store will feature the entire range of RIMOWA high-end luggage and its rich manufacturing savoir-faire.

With 600 square meters on five levels, the store includes retail space, an exhibition space, customer service, a repair shop and a projection room featuring the film of the Junkers F13 project by RIMOWA.

Inspired by the golden age of commercial aviation and the fuselage of the Junkers F13 in Duralumin, Swiss designers Atelier oï created a space marked by the iconic aluminum grooves of RIMOWA suitcases.

Rimowa has also devoted a special area to its new RIMOWA Electronic Tag, a digital check-in solution launched in 2016 in partnership with Lufthansa and Eva Air. The first system in the world that allows travelers to check suitcases using a smartphone and deposit them at automatic baggage-drop machines, the RIMOWA Electronic Tag saves considerable time at the check-in counter.
