Geneva Watch Days 2020, the year’s most innovative multi-brand watchmaking event.

The recent Geneva Watch Days marked the advent of an exciting new event featuring an innovative concept and format. The show brought together 17 very distinctive names in the world of watchmaking for the sector’s only trade event in Switzerland in 2020. Geneva Watch Days was a bold venture in an environment that remains more uncertain than ever. The initiative is regarded as an industry landmark and a strong signal of optimism.

Several major Swiss luxury watch brands, including Breitling, Bvlgari, De Bethune, Gerald Genta, Girard-Perregaux, H. Moser & Cie, MB&F, Ulysse Nardin and Urwerk have united to create the independent Geneva Watch Days late August 2020.

Over four days, the international media and customers discovered new high-end watch models from the 17 participating brands at their respective showrooms in partner stores and hotels. The official pavilion on the Rotonde du Mont-Blanc was open to the public for a firsthand look at the new creations of the participating luxury brands. The entire event took place in strict compliance with health measures established by the state and city of Geneva.

LVMH’s premier position in watchmaking was represented at Geneva Watch Days 2020 via Bvlgari, whose showroom was located in the Ritz-Carlton Hôtel de la Paix. Bvlgari marked a new milestone with the latest model in the Octo Finissimo collection, the Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Chronograph Skeleton Automatic.

The luxury watch sets a sixth world record in the category with its ultra-thin case and ultra-sophisticated tourbillon. Introducing a new iteration of the Bvlgari Aluminium, the Italian Maison has reignited the fire lit by the iconic model. Bvlgari also unveiled the new Arena Bi-Retro by Gerald Genta, whose eponymous brand was acquired by the Maison in 2000, delighting collectors attached to the model’s distinctive design.

“The decentralized format of this unique watch brands ‘gathering will allow us to be safe. Also, we have put together strict hygiene rules for all participants and visitors. No risks will be taken. Grouping the entire Swiss watch industry in a single location, Geneva, is a major and unique opportunity to rekindle the flame of the watchmaking sector that has been slowed down the last weeks,” said JEAN CHRISTOPHE BABIN, CEO OF BVLGARI.
