Guerlain asked Lebanese designer Nadine Kanso to reinterpret its iconic Bee perfume bottle. The collaboration around the theme of love led to a creation that fuses the art of perfumery with contemporary jewelry.

Guerlain, one of the world’s most prestigious fragrance houses, has recently collaborated with Lebanese designer Nadine Kanso to create a limited edition Bee bottle to celebrate the brand’s 170th anniversary. This new creation, titled “Rêve d’Amour,” fuses the worlds of perfumery and contemporary jewelry design, showcasing the art of calligraphy, precious gems, and Swarovski crystals.

The Bee bottle has a rich history, dating back to 1853 when Guerlain was founded. Its iconic shape was inspired by the beehives that adorned the gardens of the Palais-Royal in Paris. Since then, the Bee bottle has become a symbol of the brand’s commitment to innovation and elegance.

Guerlain has a long history of artistic collaborations, working with a range of artists to create limited edition fragrances, bottles, and packaging. Maison Matisse and Ateliers Vermont are just two examples of the brand’s recent partnerships.

In 2020, Guerlain collaborated with Maison Matisse, the French design house founded by the descendants of the painter Henri Matisse, to create a limited edition fragrance and bottle. The design was inspired by the artist’s “Odalisque with a Tambourine” painting, featuring bright colors and bold lines.

Ateliers Vermont, a French artisanal workshop specializing in metalwork, collaborated with Guerlain in 2019 to create a limited edition bottle for the brand’s iconic Shalimar fragrance. The bottle was inspired by the Art Deco movement, featuring a sleek, geometric design in polished silver.

The collaboration with Nadine Kanso marks another exciting chapter in Guerlain’s artistic partnerships. Kanso’s work is known for its fusion of Arabic calligraphy and contemporary design, creating jewelry pieces that are both elegant and meaningful. With the Bee bottle, Kanso has brought her unique vision to the world of perfumery, showcasing the beauty of Arabic calligraphy and Swarovski crystals in a truly breathtaking way.

“I chose the word ‘love’ to show the world that with love we can accomplish beautiful things.” — Nadine Kanso
