The future is today: The Jacques Rougerie Foundation Awards 2012

Build together the civilizations of tomorrow

The prizes of the Jacques Rougerie Foundation are meant to offer to conceivers a unique opportunity to submit innovative projects in architecture, design, engineering, urban planning, artistic culture … that meet the current key issues for greater environmental, industrial and technological responsibility, and take into account the precepts of sustainable development, enabling the evolution of our society.

Those innovative projects will necessarily fall under one of these two worlds: the ocean, a true guaranty for our tomorrow’s environmental and social living or space, a field of essential technological developments and applications allowing the future of our civilization.

Innovation and sustainability are the key words of this call for creativity.

To create, to develop the tools of tomorrow, or invent the processes to implement them, using knowledge, innovative materials, techniques and fundamental advance in design, development, energy saving or natural resources, recycling…

Prizes will be awarded to three authors who want to create, develop the tools of tomorrow, such processes to implement them, using knowledge, innovative materials, techniques and fundamental advance in design, development , energy saving or natural resources, recycling… Prizes will be awarded, irrespective of age, to an author personally identified by his name or to a team.


2012 rewards: 
In 2012, the Jacques Rougerie Foundation – Institut de France will reward three authors of awarded projects, and presenting an architectural project related to Space or to the Sea ou to the Rising Water, with an annual total of 30,000 € distributed as follows:

The 2011 winning project are:

 

«Architecture, Design and Technology for Space» Award was given by Jean-Francois Clervoy, Astronaut, and Philippe Boissat, President and Founder of 3i3s, to Olivier Boisard and Peter Marx for their project “Apogeïos“.

 

«Architecture, Design and Technology for the Sea» Award was presented by Pierre-Armand Thomas, engineer, and Ariel Fuchs, Oceanographer, to Camille Benoit and Bastiaan Vermonden for the project “Enercité“.


“Coup de Coeur Paul Maymont” Award was given by Jacques Rougerie, Architect and Founder Fondation Jacques Rougerie, and Xavier Soule, Architect, to Yannick Lelogeais for his project “Bamb’Loon”
