@Only Watch 2023: 62 lots and world tour revealed

Only Watch has revealed all 62 lots of the upcoming 10th edition of its biennial charity auction of unique watches to take place on November 5, 2023, in Geneva under the hammer of Christie’s.

This biennial charity auction of unique watches aims to raise funds for research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) and genetic diseases. Let us delve into the highlights of this year’s edition, including the exceptional timepieces and the upcoming world tour.

The Genesis of Only Watch

In 2005, Luc Pettavino, in collaboration with the watch industry, initiated Only Watch to advance research in therapeutic solutions for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. This genetic disease affects 1 in 3,500 boys. Following his son Paul’s diagnosis, Pettavino launched this Monaco-based charity, the Association Monégasque contre les Myopathies, to accelerate research and support the scientific community.

The Only Watch auctions have made a significant impact in recent years, raising funds for groundbreaking research.

These funds have supported numerous research projects, grants, and fellowships within public institutions, aiding researchers in hospitals and universities. One notable project is a biotech consortium that is launching a phase 1 clinical trial for a drug developed to treat Duchenne muscular dystrophy. This breakthrough technology may hold the key to treating other genetic diseases as well, marking a significant milestone in this collaborative success story.
