Saut Hermès 2023: Hats off to Victor Bettendorf and his horse Mr. Tac

The 2023 Saut Hermès by Hermès, the unmissable event in the international equestrian calendar, announced its winners.

The thirteenth edition of the Saut Hermès sporting event took place on March 17,18 and 19, 2023 in the heart of Paris, at the Grand Palais Éphémère.

For three days, Paris moves to the rhythm of the Saut Hermès. At the Grand Palais Éphémère, course designers, artisans grooms and riders focus on the wellbeing of the horses, a source of inspiration and creativity for the house. After the tribute to the legendary Hermès Ryan on Saturday, the carriage races, and the cheerful atmosphere in the paddocks, now it’s time to discover the winner. Hats off to Victor Bettendorf and his horse Mr. Tac, whose virtuoso precision and natural affinity led them to victory in the 2023 Grand Prix Hermès!

Hermès has organised the Saut Hermès at the Grand Palais since 2010, and managed to gather many of the world’s finest riders in the heart of Paris for this major event in the international equestrian calendar.

The Parisian house invited more than 75 riders from 20 different countries and over 130 horses at this future Olympic site. The 55 riders in this CSI 5* competition – the highest category classified by the French Equestrian Federation (FFE) and the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) – and the 20 young promising talents from around the world participating in the Talents Hermès events for the under-25s have competed on ten courses created by the Spanish course designer Santiago Varela Ullastres.

Faithful to their first customer, the horse, Hermès gather fans and members of the extensive equestrian community at the Grand Palais Éphémère, decorated for the occasion in the event’s colours. Whether experienced riders or novices, professionals or amateurs, the event’s 13,200 visitors can look forward to an exciting weekend celebrating a high-level sport.

They visitors were invited to discover demonstrations of the luxury house’s saddlery know-how, explore the equestrian bookshop, and enjoy some family time with activities focusing on the world of the horse. The experience continued on the Champ-de-Mars, where the younger audience was offered the chance to ride a pony and try their hand at grooming free of charge throughout the weekend.

The Théâtre du Centaure company came to the 2023 Saut Hermès arena for the first time to present an original equestrian show.
