Jaguar
is celebrating its 80th anniversary by once again taking on the legendary challenge that is the Mille Miglia – the world’s most beautiful race. Held from 14 -17 May in Italy, Jaguar Heritage Racing will be fielding a team of drivers who will cover more than 1,000 miles from Brescia-Rome-Brescia in nine of the marque’s most celebrated models.

Crowds lining the route will get to see examples of historically-significant Jaguar XKs, C-types and D-types hurtling past them with famous faces in the cockpits.

To give 2015 Mille Miglia entrants a chance to familiarise themselves with the iconic sports cars they’ll be driving in Italy, Jaguar hosted a ‘Mini Miglia’ in the winding roads of the Scottish Highlands. Jaguar Director of Design Ian Callum, Chef and TV Presenter James Martin, Supermodel David Gandy and more of this year’s Jaguar team launched a video to showcase how they prepare for 2015 Mille Miglia in the heart of the Scottish highlands.

At this year’s Mille Miglia race Jaguar Heritage will come with nine of the marque’s most famous 1950s models. The Star line-up of drivers comes from motorsport, music and entertainment:

Five-time winner of the Le Mans 24hr, three-time Daytona 24hr winner and world sportscar veteran, Derek Bell, will make his Mille Miglia debut driving a Jaguar C-type. Derek is driving as a guest of art collector and classic car enthusiast Adam Lindemann.

Piloting the second C-type, ‘NDU 289’, will be Jaguar Vehicle Integrity Chief Engineer Mike Cross, while the final C-type, ‘PUG 676’, will be driven by Royal Automobile Club Motoring Committee Chairman, Ben Cussons. Driving ‘RSF 303’, a priceless Jaguar D-type ‘Long Nose’ Ecurie Ecosse racer, which finished second at Le Mans in 1957, will be Jaguar Director of Design, Ian Callum. A veteran of the Mille Miglia, Ian drove with US chat show host Jay Leno in the 2014 event – this year he will be partnering up with businessman and classic car enthusiast, Clive Beecham.

At the wheel of a Jaguar MK VII will be a man who’s no stranger to speed and sleep deprivation – Charley Boorman. More used to two wheels than four thanks to his many motorbike adventures, Charley will be partnered by Bremont co-founder Giles English. The fastest saloon car of its day, a Jaguar MK VII was famously piloted to victory in the 1956 Monte Carlo Rally by Ronnie Adams with co-drivers Frank Biggar and Derek Johnstone.

Host of the hugely popular BBC One show, Saturday Kitchen and well-known TV chef, James Martin, will be partnered by Bremont co-founder Nick English, brother of Giles. They will share the penultimate ‘Long Nose’ Jaguar D-type ever built, registered ‘393 RW’. Completing the trio of D-types will be one of the classic car world’s most respected experts, Simon Kidston.

La Riviera by Noel Edmonds: The 21st century version of the first classic Jaguar racer

First classic Jaguar racer reborn at 2015 Top Marques Monaco.

Classic La Riviera Car - Top Marques Monaco 2015 - 2luxury2

British TV Legend Noel Edmonds launches La Riviera, an automotive recreation of a bygone era. Fitted with straight-six 4.2 litre Jaguar engines and offering 220bhp, the new 1250kg La Riviera car is a 21st century version of the first classic Jaguar racer. The car debuts at this year’s Top Marques Monaco Show, considered “the world’s most exclusive car show”. Never seen before supercars, a flying roadster and many more eye-popping vehicles will be on display at the Grimaldi Forum on the water’s edge in Monaco from April 16th to 19th.

The car epitomises the style of the 1930s and it is an exact recreation of the original even down to the design and weight of the nuts and bolts,” explained Noel Edmonds, a self-confessed petrolhead and one of the first Top Gear presenters. Noel himself raced at Le Mans and owned a string of exotic super cars, including a rare Ford GT40 sports car similar to the record breaking model that won Le Mans for four straight years in the late 60s.

“It is not to be confused with the SS100 copies and kit cars, each one is completely hand-made and will take five months to build by craftsmen in England,” added Noel.

The open-top is combined with the best of English design and quality, including Connolly leather and Wilton carpets. The car is handcrafted by traditional craftsmen and each vehicle takes 6 months to create, only 5 being produced per year. Each LaRiviera bears the name of an iconic location on the Cote D`Azur.

To highlight the lightweight and agile credentials of the new Jaguar XF model, the automotive manufacturer will showcase a dramatic drive across London on 24 March, one week ahead of its public motor show debut in New York.

Jaguar have teamed up with expert British stuntman Jim Dowdall, veteran of dramatic action stunts in movies including Bond, Bourne and Indiana Jones, to perform a world’s longest high-wire water crossing in the all-new Jaguar XF.

The dramatic drive, across two 34mm-diameter wires suspended high above water will be streamed globally on jaguar.com/newxf at 19:00 GMT on 24 March.

XF was first launched in 2007 and is Jaguar’s biggest selling and most awarded car. The next generation XF is completely new from the ground up and will be the second Jaguar model to use the brand’s advanced aluminium-intensive architecture.

“I believe the all-new XF will be the best looking car in its class. Elegant, handsome and with proportions that imbue a great sense of integrity – the all-new XF will be true to the strong tradition of sporting Jaguar saloons while being completely of its time,” said Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar.

The new XF will make its global motor show debut in New York on 01 April. The all-new XF will go on-sale from Autumn 2015 and will be built at Jaguar Land Rover‘s Castle Bromwich plant.
