The Karlbox – the professional toolkit from Faber-Castell

“What amuses me while drawing is the fact to draw.” Karl Lagerfeld.

For Karl Lagerfeld drawing is like breathing and writing. “These are things that almost relax me,” says the designer who presents his new project with German stationery and art company Faber-Castell. The KARLBOX is a unique homage to Karl Lagerfeld and an expression of the symbiosis
between an artist and its tools.

The pencils that he uses are extensions of himself: colours, crayons and pencils decorate his various living and work spaces. And they are all inevitably labelled Faber-Castell. No doubt as, like each of his creations, these instruments are marked with a true luxury and authentic seal.

Limited to 2.500 pieces worldwide, The KarlBox contains all of the designer’s favourite drawing utensils. Every box comes with a serial number plate and a certificate of authenticity.

“Designers such as Karl Lagerfeld nourish the demand for work tools of the highest excellence and quality, which form a solid foundation for the blossoming of their creative power. The Faber- Castell Art & Graphic product line unites the best of 255 years of company experience in the development and manufacture of exclusive artists´ products,” explained Faber-Castell.

The box is divided into several drawers which include the primary colours. Therefore, in total, the KARLBOX contains 350 drawing instruments: markers, crayons, colour pencils, including reds, blacks, greens, yellows and blues set out like a colour chart.

This product line enjoys a high reputation with artists as well as designers of all types. Famous artists such as Vincent van Gogh, Paul Klee, Oskar Kokoschka and Neo Rauch have appreciated or are still appreciating the vast selection of colour nuances, as well as the quality promise of this product line, which has remained unchanged to this day: The high-quality pigments guarantee unsurpassed light-fastness and colour brilliance – for works that will stand the test of time.

The uber-chic box contains an extensive collection of over 350 tools for drawing and painting including 120 Albrecht Durer artists’ watercolour pencils and five Graphite Aquarelle pencils for painting, 120 polychromos artists’ pencils and pastels, a set of 60 Pitt Artist Pens Brush, 12 9000 graphite pencils for drawing, writing and sketching, and four Pitt Artist Pens Fineliners for detailed drawing.

According to Faber-Castell, the limited edition is already sold out online, but still available exclusively at Faber-Castell stores and KARL LAGERFELD stores all around the world.
