Pharell Williams shares his reflections on skin health and wellbeing

“Humanrace doesn’t differentiate by race or gender. We’re creating for humans; we are all born in the same skin and Humanrace celebrates this.” Pharrell Williams.

American record producer Pharrell Williams is on a mission. Guided by experiences from his own wellbeing journey, he created Humanrace skincare brand in the belief that taking better care of ourselves can teach us to take better care of each other. Now, Humanrace has arrived exclusively at Selfridges department store, where you can find the brand’s all-gender skin, body and suncare range along with hand-crafted ceramics, Humanrace merch and the AW22 adidas Originals Samba capsule collection in the Men’s Designer Street Room at Selfridges London.

Known for his age-defying complexion, it’s no surprise that when entrepreneur and musician Pharrell Williams launched his skincare line in 2020, it sold out almost immediately. It’s backed with 20 years’ worth of advice from Williams’ very own dermatologist, Dr. Elena Jones, who taught him about the importance of using simple ingredients for better results.

Skin health is a consideration. It’s an idea, it’s a concept. Healthy skin, healthy body, healthy mind, healthy soul; there just needs to be a commitment to all three. – Pharrell Williams

Built with all people in mind, the skincare range is formulated to prepare, repair and protect all skin types and has product names printed in braille on each component. Skincare is separated into a simple three-step routine with The Three-Minute Facial – made up of the Rice Powder Cleanser, Lotus Enzyme Exfoliator and Humidifying Face Cream, it makes cleansing, exfoliating and moisturising daily a fuss-free process. The same principles have been applied to the dedicated body routine with energising and clarifying Body Bars and a Humidifying Body Cream that strengthens the skin barrier and locks in moisture.

Humanrace’s pursuit of being well goes beyond skin deep; it’s passionate about the planet’s wellbeing too. Refillable skincare components mean there’s not a single-use plastic in sight and all ingredients are vegan, fragrance- and cruelty-free, too.
