@Audemars Piguet Royal Oak “Jumbo” Extra-Thin Only Watch 2021

AUDEMARS PIGUET ROYAL OAK “JUMBO” EXTRA-THIN ONLY WATCH

Swiss Haute Horlogerie Manufacturer Audemars Piguet presents its Only Watch unique piece 2021: This is the last unique piece ref. 15202. Heralding a new era, the case and bracelet combine sandblasted titanium with polished Bulk Metallic Glass, while the dial evokes its origins.

This dedicated Royal Oak “Jumbo” Extra-Thin is the last unique 15202 and the last unique piece powered by Calibre 2121, the thinnest automatic movement with central rotor and date indication of its time, first introduced on the Royal Oak in 1972. Heralding a new era, the case and bracelet combine sandblasted titanium with polished Bulk Metallic Glass – a first at Audemars Piguet. When cooled rapidly, this palladium-based alloy shares several characteristics with other glasses, including amorphicity, transparency and high strength, making it highly resistant to wear and corrosion. Its non-crystalline nature results in a unique play of light.

While offering new grey hues, the Petite Tapisserie dial has retained the original Royal Oak’s typography for the signature and monogram as introduced in 1972 with the 5402 A series. The original printed denomination “Swiss” has also been kept under the hour-marker at 6 o’clock.

@ArtyA x John McLaughlin Only Watch 2021

ARTYA x JOHN MC LAUGHLIN IS THAT SO ? ArtyA Iconic Watch & Guitar made with the world’s greatest guitarist.

This unique version (1/1) of the ArtyA Guitar Watch is fully handcrafted in collaboration with John McLaughlin, the legendary guitarist and Luc Pettavino’s friend, without whom this project would not have been possible.

Blandenier, a Geneva-based workshop, has agreed to join this charitable project by producing this unique dial inspired by the most mythical album the guitarist. 110 hours of hand painting work later, these bright colours and hypnotic patterns constitute a dazzling miniature painting. Under this realisation, the ArtyA avant-gardist chronograph movement is activated with push buttons representing guitar keys. John McLaughlin matched the ArtyA masterpiece with his personal guitar, built by world-renowned luthier Paul Reed Smith, the Stradivari of guitar making. Certain guitars built by Paul are considered works of art and have been bought by collectors worldwide.

The artwork on the watch face and the guitar was created by Marq Spusta, a San Francisco-based artist whose art is collected worldwide and features on numerous record albums and posters.

MONTBLANC STAR LEGACY NICOLAS RIEUSSEC CHRONOGRAPH ONLY WATCH’21 UNIQUE PIECE

This year marks the 9th edition of the renowned Only Watch charity auction and also the 200th anniversary of the inking chronograph created by Nicolas Rieussec. To celebrate both important milestones, Montblanc pays tribute to both events with the creation of the Montblanc Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph Only Watch 2021 Unique Piece that will be auctioned together with a wooden replica of the historical chronograph from 1821, and an exclusive immersive high watchmaking experience.

This timepiece comes in a 43 mm 18 K yellow gold case that is shaped like a pebble, offering ultimate comfort and elegance on the wrist. Paying tribute to the charity auction, the caseback features a special engraving “Only Watch Unique Piece”. Furthermore, the movement’s oscillating weight has been crafted out of 18 K yellow gold and decorated with a guilloché grain d’orge pattern. It also includes a cartridge where a further engraving can be added – either Only Watch 2021 or the name of the future owner, making this unique timekeeper a true collector’s piece. Following the Only Watch colour theme, Montblanc has added subtle orange touches to the dial’s railway track, the skeletonised second time zone hand, the chronograph’s double index, and the date number six, as a nod to the day of the auction.

@MB&F HM10 PANDA ONLY WATCH

MB&F HM10 PANDA ONLY WATCH

MB&F has transformed its Horological Machine No10 – aka HM10 Bulldog – into a panda bear, one of the rarest and cutest of the world’s mammals, much loved by children and adults alike. HM10’s rounded, compact body lends itself perfectly to the shape of the cuddly panda; the top section is coated in black and white lacquer to mimic the animal’s colouring. To accommodate the lacquer, the top section of the standard titanium case had to be crafted for this Pièce Unique in stainless steel. Other unique features include two black titanium panda ears, added atop the sapphire crystal dome, and a ceramic tail machined from Grade 5 silicon nitride.

Much like the panda’s unmistakable eyes, two black aluminium time-display domes dominate the face of the watch – a nod to the other use of the word ‘panda’ in watchmaking, where white dials with black counters are called panda dials. Other panda bear features include flexible “legs” that wrap firmly around your wrist and panda teeth that are constantly munching on bamboo shoots; the teeth also indicate the power reserve.

@BVLGARI OCTO FINISSIMO PERPETUAL CALENDAR TANTALUM

BVLGARI OCTO FINISSIMO PERPETUAL CALENDAR TANTALUM

A one-of-a-kind execution based on a world record, in Tantalum, an extremely rare metal. Bvlgari has twisted the dial design of November in NOW, a nod to Only Watch. The Octo Finissimo Perpetual Calendar Tantalum for Only Watch features a deep blue dial echoing the colour of the metal. In a nod to the objective of this one-off creation, the graphic design of the month of November recalls the Only Watch abbreviation in a symbolic shade of colour.

At its heart beats a 2.75 mm calibre testifying to the genius of miniaturisation. It drives the hour and minute hands as well as all the perpetual calendar functions: retrograde date display, retrograde day, month and leap-year indication. These are set by means of three correctors: one for the date at 2 o’clock, another for the month at 4 o’clock and a third for the day between 8 and 9 o’clock.

@BOUCHERON AJOURÉE, MASSY LE CAMÉLÉON watch

BOUCHERON AJOURÉE, MASSY LE CAMÉLÉON WATCH

The Maison Boucheron has revisited its enchanted bestiary to celebrate its enduring charm. What better emblem than the chameleon to represent this eternal renewal? Inspired by nature’s wonders, Boucheron’s jewelers excel in the delicate sculpture which brings these animals to life. Ajourée Masy le Caméléon is a jewelry watch paved with round diamonds, multicoloured sapphires, tsavorites and ruby along the chameleon’s body, made of polished white gold. This creation is incredibly complex, due to the chameleon’s particular curved form.

Hedgehog, parrot, cat, chickadee or swallow… The extraordinary story of the Boucheron bestiary begins in its workshops in 1866. The place where nature is an inspiration. It is here that the collection of pieces between High Jewelry and works of art was created. A procession of fabulous animals that has come to life in the hands of the jewelers over time. These expert craftsmen chisel, polish and pave with such precision that each carved animal appears truer than nature! Each person can adopt the animal friend, which will become their exclusive, protective totem, their own lucky charm and mascot.

@BREGUET TYPE XX ONLY WATCH 2021

BREGUET TYPE XX ONLY WATCH 2021

This faithful re-edition of Breguet’s renowned pilot’s watch pays tribute to the civilian versions of the Type XX chronograph from the 1950s and 1960s. The Type XX Only Watch 2021 flyback chronograph is notable for its specific architecture, meticulously reproducing the codes of the first generation of civilian Type XX timepieces.

The bronze colour of its dial is a nod to the extremely rare original models with dials coloured in this way. It features a small seconds subdial at nine o’clock and a 30-minute totaliser at three o’clock with an increased diameter, luminous markers and the teardrop-shaped hand. The bidirectional steel bezel comes fitted with a 12-hour scale, along with a luminous triangular marker.

This unique 38.30 mm piece comes equipped with a straight crown as seen in the Type XX civilian-use models, while the shape of the hands leads them to be referred to as “syringes”. It comes equipped with a Valjoux 235 movement, directly derived from the Valjoux 222 used by Breguet in the 1950s and early 1960s.
