Where East meets Chanel: Hong Kong de Chanel

Chanel unveils exclusive Hong Kong beauty collection.

To celebrate the new Chanel store at Hysan Place Hong Kong, French luxury house Chanel has released a limited-edition make-up collection inspired by Hong Kong’s contrasts, ranging from deep browns to brilliant whites.

The new capsule collection includes a new Ombres Matelassees palette with five golden blendable eyeshadows and two nail polishes called Western and Eastern Light, evoking the modernity of Hong Kong with bold shades of opaque white and deep chocolate.

Peter Philips, Creative Director of CHANEL Makeup (who has recently announced he will be standing down as Beauty’s creative director after five years with the brand), suggests mixing the two tones.

According to Chanel, the exclusive creations for eyes and nails are infused with a metallic glow, evoking the lights of the city as they reflect in the waters of the China Sea. Warm tones of the eyeshadow palette are brought together in an elegant harmony, each embossed with the iconic quilted pattern. Easily blendable, the soft powder texture is luxurious to the touch, while the versatile shade range offers unlimited eye looks.  The two darkest shades may be used as eyeliner.

The boutique at at Hysan Place is the brand’s largest boutique in Hong Kong. Look also at the hair and makeup at the Chanel Spring-Summer 2013 Haute Couture.
