Countdown to lift-off: Maison Mumm is bringing conviviality and celebration further that we could ever imagine… where it has yet to be invented.

One of the first champagnes to grace the supersonic airliner French Concorde, Mumm will now be the first to be served outside the Earth’s atmosphere.

In September 2018, Pioneer chamapgne Maison Mumm officially launches Mumm Grand Cordon Stellar: a groundbreaking feat of technology that makes it possible for astronauts and other space travelers to enjoy champagne in the challenging surroundings of zero gravity. The fruit of a three-year partnership with Spade – a young agency specialized in space design – Mumm Grand Cordon Stellar employs a revolutionary new bottle and glass concept to transform life in space, making a high-tech champagne ritual available to all in the very near future. Thanks
to Mumm Grand Cordon Stellar, Mumm’s art of celebration – along with a range of exciting new taste characteristics – will now accompany daring achievers in the new era of space exploration.

For Cordon Stellar, Mumm has joined forces with a cutting-edge design start-up. Founded by Octave de Gaulle, Spade is an agency specialized in designing objects for use in space. “For the last 40 years, space travel has been shaped by engineers rather than designers. Instead of seeing zero gravity as a problem to be solved, we look at it as a design possibility,” Octave de Gaulle explains. “The big design challenge for Mumm Grand Cordon Stellar was actually getting the liquid out of the bottle.”

The high-tech bottle design crafted from transparent glass uses the champagne’s gas to expel the liquid into a ring- shaped frame, where it is concentrated into a droplet of bubbles. It can then be passed to someone and released into the air, where it floats until gathered up in a specially designed glass.

The innovation isn’t confined to technology. In the unique conditions of zero gravity, Mumm Grand Cordon takes on new and unsuspected taste characteristics too. The sensations begin as soon as the wine leaves the bottle, appearing as an effervescent ball of foam. The novelty continues when the champagne enters the mouth, where the foam transforms itself into a liquid. “It’s a very surprising feeling,” explains Mumm’s Cellar Master Didier Mariotti.

“Because of zero gravity, the liquid instantly coats the entire inside of the mouth, magnifying the taste sensations. There’s less fizziness and more roundness and generosity, enabling the wine to express itself fully.” The result intensifies and concentrates Mumm Grand Cordon’s signature style, unleashing the power of Pinot Noir.

The new glass design features a tapering stem – adorned with a red sash in homage to Mumm Grand Cordon – crowned by a slightly concave cup five centimeters in diameter. Surface tension makes the floating droplet adhere to the glass, allowing it to be raised to the lips.

Mumm Grand Cordon Stellar should soon be served to participants in the zero gravity flights organized by Air Zero G, while discussions are in progress to supply it to future space missions and commercial space flights.

Usain Bolt passes on his personal tips for coming out a winner: Don’t win to celebrate, celebrate to win!

Celebrate Your Next Victory – Mumm The Party Usain Bolt

Pop -Let’s celebrate your Next Victory with GH MUMM

High-End Champagne Maison Mumm, one of the largest Champagne producers, currently ranked 4th globally based on volume of bottles sold, is releasing a new edgy video, in which its new honorific CEO Usain Bolt passes on his personal tips for coming out a winner. Usain gets into the party vibe with a virtuoso dancing display.

Ever since its foundation, Maison Mumm has been a proud partner for daring pioneers who push back the limits. Mumm’s distinctive bottle is the ultimate expression of victory celebrations and a tribute to the achievements of sportsmen everywhere.

Usain Bolt is proving that his awesome talents go a lot further than simply being the fastest man on the planet. “Installed as Mumm’s Chief Entertainment Officer for the past year, Usain has been inspiring the world with his positive mindset by creating daring celebrations with a distinctive Mumm touch. This bold new production shows him revealing an unexpectedly intimate side, in a series of slickly choreographed routines worthy of a professional dancer,” said the high-end champagne maison based in Reims in northern France.

The film – directed by Luis Cervero (having worked for Pharell Williams, Justice, etc.) – features the athlete and the former Jamaican Miss Universe contestant Yendi Philipps in an up-to-the-minute expression of Maison Mumm’s signature values of Dare. Win. Celebrate.

Let’s celebrate your Next Victory

It opens with an elegantly dressed Usain arriving at a hip nightclub in the dead of night. After getting the party started on the dance-floor, Usain takes center-stage for a high-energy dance duet. An athletically choreographed act provides him with an opportunity to strip off his clothes before hitting the starting blocks in his racing gear. “That’s when we realize that Usain has actually been celebrating his victory before even running the race!” commented G. H. Mumm & Cie.

For the first time ever, the video shows an elite athlete raising the curtain on the secrets to his success. Usain Bolt radiates a winning attitude before even hitting the starting blocks, and his personal method defies convention: “Don’t win to celebrate, celebrate to win.” That message establishes Mumm as a Maison with a strong point of view and a mindset focused on panache and positive thinking: in short, a true icon of victory and celebration.

Usain Bolt, New Mumm CEO

Usain Bolt is supremely qualified to take on the Mumm’s first ever title of Chief Entertainment Officer.

After months of speculation regarding his next move after his victories in Rio, Usain Bolt gave a special statement that he will take on one of the biggest challenges of his career as CEO/Chief Entertainment Officer of the French champagne house Maison Mumm.

Throughout Mumm’s history, the House has partnered with trailblazers who dare to break with convention, such as supporting explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot during the first French Antarctic expedition in 1904. Similarly, the appointment of Bolt is a daring first step in a series of planned exciting engagements between him and Maison Mumm.

“I’m honored to take on the role of CEO for Maison Mumm and to show the world what it means to celebrate and entertain in daring ways,” said Mr. Bolt. “My number one mission will be to enhance Mumm’s legacy in celebrating victories in stunning ways, and I’m very excited to invite all my fans around the world to raise their glasses with me.”

Usain Bolt’s new role is in keeping with Mumm’s pioneering nature and provides evidence of the brand’s propensity to be bold and to do what is unexpected. Earlier this year, Mumm revolutionized and redefined the style of a traditional champagne bottle when it introduced its new bottle design.
Created by award winning British designer Ross Lovegrove, Mumm Grand Cordon is the most innovative design in the 189-year history of Maison Mumm. The bottle’s revolutionary shape, in particular its long, slender neck, necessitated a whole series of innovations to the traditional champagne
production process. Unique to premium champagnes, the bottle has no front label; instead, the G.H. Mumm signature and eagle emblem are screened in gold directly on the glass. Additionally, Maison Mumm premiered the first digitally connected champagne bottle (which triggers a interactive sound and visual experience in a venue as the cork is popped), and the first drone-powered bottle delivery service by a champagne house.

“Maison Mumm is about exploring unexpected ways to celebrate with our fans,” said Cesar Giron, Chairman and CEO of Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouet. “By naming Usain as our Chief Entertainment Officer, we will work closely together to bring unique excitement through daring innovation to celebrations and moments of victory, large and small, around the globe.”

As the icon of victory, Maison Mumm announced a brand new sponsorship deal with international freestyle skiing star Kevin Rolland.

A 9-time medalist with 5 golds at the X Games and Olympic Bronze medalist at Sochi in 2014, Rolland embodies the House’s motto of Dare, Win, Celebrate and personifies pushing the limits. This new partnership will be on display at an exciting series of snow-themed events across the world, showcasing the most daring side of skiing. In the new action short film Fast Forward 2: The Eclipse, Kevin and his friend Julien Regnier take the audience on a white-knuckle ride down the mountain, showing off a succession of hair-raising stunts on their way to an exclusive Mumm party. The tone of the film is pure Mumm – a perfect fit with the Maison’s track record in adventure sports like sailing, horse racing and Formula E.

Mission accomplished: Mumm’s Daring Delivery

Watch Cellar Master Didier and Kellan Lutz go to great lengths to deliver the new Mumm bottle to NYC.

Mumm Grand Cordon 2016 - the revolutionary new champagne bottle

Maison Mumm officially unveiled its revolutionary bottle Mumm Grand Cordon at Lightbox, the premier creative tech space in New York. The new bottle was presented in a breathtaking sequence that segued from a digital film to real life, and featured the noted actor Kellan Lutz and Mumm Cellar Master Didier Mariotti.

Mumm Grand Cordon is the most innovative design in the 189-year history of Maison Mumm. The bottle has no front label – instead, the G.H. Mumm signature and eagle emblem are printed in gold directly on the glass. Another striking feature of the design is its shape, which necessitated a whole series of innovations to the traditional champagne production process.

Perhaps the most eye-catching feature of the Mumm Grand Cordon bottle is its reinterpretation of the famous Cordon Rouge red sash, which is celebrating its 140th anniversary this year. On Mumm Grand Cordon, the red sash is transformed into a genuine red ribbon, which – in a feat of technology – is actually indented in the glass.

The bottle of Mumm Grand Cordon was created by multi-award-winning designer Ross Lovegrove, with whom Maison Mumm previously collaborated on a limited-edition sabre.

To introduce the new bottle, Maison Mumm offered an immersive experience to the public who lived almost in real time Kellan Lutz racing against the clock to deliver the bottle to the celebration venue in New York.  In the final sequence of the film, attendees saw Kellan Lutz on a motorcycle arriving at the venue, which also coincides with his grand entrance with the bottle on a motorcycle in real life to the party for one of the most daring deliveries of a champagne bottle ever.

The Daring Delivery was shot using cutting-edge techniques – in particular first-person POV – to create an immersive experience that engrosses the audience in the action from the beginning. Viewers are transported through both Kellan and Didier’s journeys, actually feeling what it is like to be Didier Mariotti as he makes a daredevil skydive – a world first for a champagne cellar master! –, or Kellan Lutz as he races through the streets of Manhattan on a motorcycle.

“I consider myself a very daring person – I regularly rock climb and ride motorcycles – so when Mumm asked me to take part in the most daring champagne delivery I was up for the challenge!” said Kellan Lutz. “I tend to seek out projects that challenge me to push my boundaries so the Daring Delivery project opened me up to new experiences I have not done before, like parkouring across Brooklyn rooftops and driving a speedboat through the New York harbor.”

To celebrate this spectacular delivery moment at the celebration, the House gathered more than 120 VIPs, including supermodel Chanel Iman, DJ/model Alexandria Richards, DJ Chelsea Leyland and various other New York athletes and celebrities. Maison Mumm once again enhanced the delivery moment as staff pretended that the champagne was not available until Kellan Lutz arrived at the event with the new bottle in hand.
