Tilda Swinton for Chanel Métiers d’Art

Tilda Swinton – face of new Chanel ad campaign

Tilda Swinton‘s “unique personality, charisma and allure” played a decisive role in choosing the actress as the new Chanel ambassador. The award-winning British actress (born 5 November 1960) known for both arthouse and mainstream films (Burn After Reading, The Beach, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Deep End, Michael Clayton) is modelling the Chanel’s pre-fall 2013 Metiers d’Art Paris-Edimbourg collection in a series of photos shot by Chanel’s creative director Karl Lagerfeld.

Held at Linlithgow Palace near Edinburgh (Scotland) in December, Metiers d’Art Paris-Edimbourg collection used Scottish wool, while tartan and tweed were key themes of a spectacular show with deep Scottish influence.

“Tilda perfectly embodies the Paris-Edimbourg collection,” Karl Lagerfeld told Vogue UK. “She is of course Scottish, but more than that, she is a modern woman, a timeless icon of elegance,” added Lagerfeld. The fashion creative has photographed Tilda Swinton for “Little Black Jacket” book and exhibition. In 2013, Swinton was named as one of the fifty best-dressed over 50s by the Guardian.
