Hublot is particularly proud of the luxury watchmaking maison’s ability to innovate and to be different. This new 2020 BigBang Millennial Pink that co-created with Lapo Elkann from Garage Italia sits perfectly within this pioneering vision.

This new Big Bang from Hublot, christened Millennial Pink, is designed in collaboration with Garage Italia and Lapo Elkann.According to the Swiss luxury watchmaking manufacture, Millennial Pink is “more than a watch, it is a state of mind. Gender Neutral.”

For some, it is powder pink or pastel; for others, a subtle blend of beige and salmon, apricot and grapefruit. Intriguing and undefinable, Millennial Pink takes its place today as a pink which is not in the exclusive realm of women, nor that of men, but truly a symbol of a completely new generation. This special hue marks a seismic shift that will change the status quo: established traditional values are being reconsidered through a lens of positivity.

Its 42-mm case sets the tone: made from modern, lightweight aluminium, a unisex and monochrome material, anodised, satin-finished and through-tinted millennial pink. This technical feat has been made possible thanks to research undertaken by Hublot’s engineers. This highly specific colour is obtained by anodisation, a process which both protects and decorates a part, and which has the advantage of giving the case and its components the desired pastel shade combined with remarkable resistance to scratches and impacts. Its proportions ensure it sits perfectly on any wrist. Gender Neutral. The Unico chronograph manufacture movement, boasting a 72-hour power reserve, has a chronograph mechanism on the dial side and a column wheel.

“Our expertise in materials technology has enabled us to create a unique colour for this watch, Millennial Pink, symbolic of the world available to us, in its constant state of flux,” explained Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of HUBLOT.

“At Garage Italia, we want to be part of a world where the character of every person is defined by their love of life and their inclusivity, rather than by their power or their superiority. More than simply a product, we want to create something which represents a positive change.” – Lapo Elkann, FOUNDER & CREATIVE CHAIRMAN of GARAGE ITALIA.

Big Bang E – a connected watch equipped with the latest Hublot technology

Two years after the debuts of Hublot’s first connected watch model (the Big Bang Referee 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia), the luxury watchmaker returns with a new model: the BIG BANG e, a connected watch equipped with the latest technology that adopts all the iconic Big Bang codes.

The new BIG BANG e unites Hublot’s highly advanced technical materials with the very latest innovations from today’s digital world.

A good pedigree always shines through!

Its case is cut from materials such as black ceramic or titanium in a “sandwich” construction, an innovative style invented by Hublot in 2005. Extremely complex, it comprises 42 components, 27 of which are for the K Module alone, the “cage” which houses the digital heart of the watch.

Apart from the “Time Only” analogue function, the BIG BANG e features exclusive interpretations of traditional watch complications, such as a Perpetual Calendar with an immaculately precise moon phase or a second GMT time zone, which presents the earth in a very realistic way. These functionalities have been revisited and enhanced to take advantage of the possibilities offered by the digital world. Despite this built-in technology, Hublot guarantees the watch is water-resistant to a depth of 30 meters.

The highlights include a scratchproof sapphire crystal, a rubber strap with deployant buckle invented by Hublot in 1980 for the Classic model and the patented One Click system for easy interchangeability.

The BIG BANG e is available in a 42 mm case, made from a choice of titanium or ceramic. The hour numerals are
metallised underneath the scratchproof sapphire crystal, which is covered with an AMOLED high definition touchscreen.

Just like a mechanical version of the Big Bang, its rotary crown with integrated pusher is used to activate the controls for its electronic module. Developed in partnership with other brands within the LVMH Group, the watch is adapted and perfected to meet Hublot’s requirements.

“Electronic watches were created in Switzerland using quartz in the 1970s. Fifty years later, we are continuing in the same innovative vein by producing a second smart watch which boasts an extremely high level of technological sophistication, whilst embodying all the aesthetic values, technical features and excellence that have ensured the reputation of our Big Bang collection. Ever more faithful to our “Art of Fusion” motto, we wanted the BIG BANG e to unite Hublot’s highly advanced technical materials with the very latest innovations from today’s digital world,”said- Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of HUBLOT.

The BIG BANG e will be produced in two different editions: one in titanium and one in black ceramic. For the first time in Hublot’s history, this watch will be sold online on the brand’s website as well as on the Wechat network in China.

A very #HublotLovesArt way of adding a touch of colour and rhythm to different moments throughout the dayAvailable as soon as the BIG BANG e is released, the first edition is part of the #HublotLovesArt movement: a series of eight dials stemming from the imagination of storytelling artist Marc Ferrero. Every three hours, the dial changes colour, meaning eight creations are displayed in sequence over a 24-hour period. Each of these is based on a specific colour: Happy Yellow, Magic Blue, Orange Dynamite, All White, Lucky Green, Magic Red, Rainbow Spirit and Black Magic. And that is not all. Every full hour is marked with the appearance of an animation that lasts five seconds.

Born from duality: Yohji Yamamoto unveils Big Bang GMT All Black watch made with Hublot

Born from duality: Hublot debuts new collaboration with Japanese fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto.

In May 2020, Swiss Luxury watch brand Hublot will celebrate the grand opening of its new flagship Boutique on Chuo-Dori Street in Ginza, Tokyo. To celebrate this important milestone, the watchmaker has collaborated with the renowned designer Yohji Yamamoto to release the limited edition Big Bang GMT All Black Yohji Yamamoto.

The world-famous avant-garde fashion designer and master tailor Yohji Yamamoto is known for his avant-garde tailoring featuring Japanese design aesthetics and for having created “The Shock of Black”. The concept shattered preconceptions of traditional tailoring. But the ultimate representation of the world view of designer Yohji Yamamoto is through the creation of clothing. The designer has presented an antithesis of traditional Western dressmaking since his debut at Paris Fashion Week in 1981.

“This watch can easily display the time zones of the two cities where I’m based, Tokyo and Paris. Moreover, the hours are invisible. As a person who isn’t always forthcoming, I find that highly amusing. I’m pleased to have taken part in the creation of this model to celebrate the opening of Hublot Boutique in Ginza, a unique, famous and iconic neighborhood of Japan,” shared Yohji Yamamoto, Fashion Designer.

@Hublot Released Yohji Yamamoto’s All-Black Big Bang Watch.

Born from duality, the timepiece displays two different time zones through its GMT feature.

At the heart of the timepiece, the Hublot Unico manufacture movement HUB1251 is equipped with a patented proprietary module which enables the second time zone to be updated instantly by a push-button, allowing the local time to be read easily via the conventional main hand of the watch. The time at home is indicated using a second arrow-shaped hour hand, which integrates a day/night indicator and is set using the crown. True to the All Black concept, tone on tone, the signature of Yohji Yamamoto can be discovered at six o’clock.

In 2006, with its All Black collection, Hublot launched a brand-new and pioneering concept: “Invisible visibility”. The all-black design of this new limited edition expresses a philosophy symbolising the very essence of the brand. Literally, the model is completely black; it has a black case made of micro-blasted black ceramic, black hands, a black dial, and a black rubber strap. Even the sapphire crystal is made of smoked sapphire.
