During the Huawei P30 Series launch event at the Paris Convention Center, Huawei Consumer Business Group (BG) unveiled the new smart glasses built in partnership with premium Korean eyewear company Gentle Monster.

Huawei X Gentle Monster smart eyewear features speakers and two microphones that allow you to accept calls from your phone, interact with a virtual assistant, and listen to music. They also charge wirelessly. There’s IP67 dust/water resistance, a 2,200 mAh battery. However, you won’t find any cameras on Huawei’s smart glasses.

According to huaweicentral, the new Huawei x Gentle Monster wearable is expected to launch in June or July 2019. The company did not release any details about the pricing.

Last year, Gentle Monster collaborated with Alexander Wang for the Fall 2018 collection presented during New York Fashion Week. Alexander Wang x Gentle Monster project was an interpretation of corporate femininity. In collaboration with Gentle Monster, the CEO expresses power and confidence through a bold acetate frame and raised lettering to complete the powerful yet elegant silhouette.

In 2016 the Korean sunglasses and optical glasses brand collaborated with Danish designer Henrik Vibskov, Hood by Air, and Opening Ceremony. In 2017 the brand collaborated with Dutch furniture designer Marcel Wanders, the founder of Moooi. In 2018 the brand collaborated on an exhibition called Burning Planet with South Korean rapper, Song Mino of Winner.
