Chopard Happy Fish Métiers d’Art in all its glorious, shimmering beauty.
With its special dial, bezel and strap, this limited 25-piece edition is a treasure crafted by the Artisans of the Maison Chopard. The watchmaking division of Chopard calls on the talent of the most prestigious and rare Métiers d’art to fashion its exceptional watch models. The luxury Jeweller calls on these “artistic hands”, the most specialized craftsmen of age-old techniques, to patiently shape these materials which are as precious as they are fragile.
Translucent waters studded with sapphires, waves enhanced with mother-of-pearl and gold leaf, foam hemmed with diamonds: the expertise of Chopard’s artisans invites us to explore the depths of the ocean, to discover an undulating and sparkling universe in constant motion. The Happy Fish watch features a majestic gold and mother-of-pearl fish swimming in the heart of a deep blue background, with delicate nuances created by colour-gradated snow-set sapphires. Seven diamond bubbles sparkle alongside the graceful sea creature gazing at its surroundings through a red jasper eye.
The fish shines with a shimmering glow under the sun’s rays and radiates soft turquoise light at night. Born from a delicate work of engraving and inlaying luminescent pigments, the enchantment is infinitely renewed evening after evening. Thirty hours of hard work were required to create this magical painting. The talent of the jewellery workshops continues on the bezel, set with diamonds of three alternating sizes for a softer look, while the 18-carat rose gold case, fitted with a royal blue alligator leather strap, houses a mechanical movement with automatic winding.
Chopard “Métiers d’Art” Happy Fish debuted in 2015 at the 20th anniversary of the Chopard Happy Sport collection.
The first “Métiers d’Art” Happy Fish watch presented the sea creature rendered in turquoise mother of pearl and shimmering gold. Housed in a 36mm 18K rose gold case with a bezel set with three alternating sizes of diamonds, the happy fish with jasper eye was living among free-floating diamonds. Visible via the sapphire crystal case back, this wrist aquarium features a mechanical self-winding movement which gives the “Métiers d’Art” Happy Fish a 42-hour power reserve.
