Dreams meet reality: Explore Make Up For Ever’s vibrant 2023 exhibition at Jardin d’Acclimatation.

Make Up For Ever’s new 2023 exhibition at at the Jardin d’Acclimatation in Paris, France draws its inspiration from a dreamlike universe and illustrates the connection between dreams and reality, through 30 Body and Face Art creations brought to life by our MAKE UP FOR EVER ACADEMY students. Available on makeupforever.com and at Jardin d’Acclimatation from April 22nd to May 29th.

The open-air photography exhibit entitled Dreamland has delighted visitors for the past several weeks at the Jardin d’Acclimatation in Paris. Students from the Make Up For Ever Academy in Paris and Shanghai explore the infinite possibilities of makeup as art.

When she created Make Up For Ever in 1984, Dany Sanz avowed a desire to establish makeup as an art: “Body art helped me to express myself, like a painter on a canvas, but on the skin.” Just as painters work with pigments, the makeup artists trained at the Make Up For Ever Academy fuse colors and textures to create veritable artworks.

The 2022 exhibition Nature Reconnection celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Make Up For Ever Academy showcased the deep affinity of its students with nature, drawing over 150,000 visitorsfrom Paris to Taiwan.

This year’s Dreamland exhibition explores the connection between dreams and reality through 30 Body and Face Art creations. Displayed at the Jardin d’Acclimatation, the large format photos spotlight the talent of the students and their unbridled creativity. These “artworks in movement” immerse viewers in a captivating world both bewitching and surreal.

Combining the gestures of a painter and the techniques of a makeup artist, the students delved into the art of dreaming through four compelling themes. Monochrome Sleep takes a black and white plunges into the oneiric world, while Graphic Faces reflects the faces of daydreams. Night Travel presents stunning trompe-l’oeil works thanks to body art, and Between World uses makeup to bridge the worlds of dream and reality.

The diversity of shapes, colors, postures and perspectives underlines the plurality of personalities and backgrounds of Make Up For Ever Academy students.

The Dreamland exhibition by the Make Up Forever Academy runs until May 29, 2023 at the Jardin d’Acclimatation.

The programme at the heart of the event with new formats

Since its creation, EDITION SPECIALE by LUXE PACK has put its programme at the heart of the event, and offers educational and expert content through conferences and workshops on concrete topics, in line with issues brands face every day. This year, the show will go a step further by multiplying the formats to address both expert brands that have put eco-design at the heart of their pack development projects, and brands that are new to the topic.

‘More than just a trade show, this educational event will provide the keys to understanding the environmental transformation of packaging in all the sectors of activity concerned‘, explained the organiser.

@EDITION SPECIALE by LUXE PACK / @editionspeciale-luxepack.com/

The programme will therefore be based on four main formats:

Workshops. As a major innovation in 2023, the show will be using the Bar area of the Carreau du Temple to organise workshops led by professionals recognised in their respective field of expertise: L’ADEME, CITEO, COOPERATIVE MU, (RE)SET, RE-SOURCES, ARNAUD LE BERRIGAUD, PASCALE BROUSSE, and GERALD MARTINES. In small groups to interact, debate, and foster exchanges between brands on their current eco-design issues. Resources, LCA, semantics, reuse, etc., all of these topics will be addressed during these Master Classes.

Round tables with a panel of speakers from emblematic or rising brands as well as representatives of associations and experts positioned as true mentors, delivering the keys to meeting the packaging industry’s current sustainable development challenges.

@EDITION SPECIALE by LUXE PACK / @editionspeciale-luxepack.com/

GUERLAIN, Champagne TELMONT, NELLY RODI, and DYPTIQUE for ‘Gifting, Celebration, Samples:How far can engaged brands change consumer habits?’

Feedback: in pairs, exhibitors will take the floor with their brand customer to share their experience of concrete use cases based on key themes (natural materials, reuse, recycling, weight reduction, etc.)

Pitches: the materials revolution is a powerful lever for change! Discover these innovators who are developing efficient and sustainable alternatives for the environment: wool, recycled shell, cork, plant fibres, marine waste, natural raw materials, etc. They will have 10 minutes to win you over!
