These special yachting awards are decided exclusively by online voting of the readers of British magazine Sailing Today with Yachts & Yachting.

Despite the pandemic, 2020 has been a great year for boat launches and sailing achievements. Indeed, the
strength of each category’s shortlist for the 2020 British Yachting Awards gives no hint of wider events. Through
innovation, commitment and enthusiasm, the marine industry has adapted and continued to thrive.

The winners of the British Yachting Awards were announced in a virtual ceremony on 3 December.

Hosted by Rob Peake, group editor of Sailing Today with Yachts & Yachting, the ceremony featured a message from Luke Patience, Olympic silver medallist and a member of TeamGB at the Tokyo Games 2021.

“Gear manufacturers have continued to impress with innovations across the board. Boat manufacturers have
continued to identify niches and create boats that push the boundaries. Sailors, of course, got on the water where
they could and put in some remarkable performances, in the professional and amateur spheres,” said the
organizers of the The British Yachting Awards.

The Moody Deck Salon 41 has been named Cruising Yacht of the Year 2020 at the British Yachting Awards. In the
coveted cruising yacht category, Moody was the only deck saloon yacht to beat Grand Soleil 42 LC, Arcona 345,
Dufour 530, Elan GT6 and Beneteau Oceanis 40.1. Decisive for the vote of the British sailing enthusiasts was,
beside the innovative design, the 360° panoramic view in the deck saloon and the incomparable space on 41 feet.

Product Manager Andreas Unger: “This audience award is won at the base of the British sailing scene and thus
reflects the current wishes and needs of sailors. We are very pleased to have hit the nerve of the time and to have
met the requirements of a modern blue water yacht”.
