This book is an ode to the cognac, sung by some of its earliest and most vibrant devotees.

ACC Art Books, the British publisher of numerous luxury brand stories, unveiled “LOUIS XIII Cognac: The Thesaurus”, an art book that will guide the reader to the heart of one of the world’s most luxurious spirit on earth.

The high-end book is divided into 13 chapters, each divided into 2 episodes: one “Movie”, one Documentary.

Each chapter captures a key moment in this high-end spirit’s life. The book encompasses the past, present and future of the LOUIS XIII cognac, from the 16th to the 22nd century. Fictive tales, inspired by real events, are presented alongside speculative futuristic anecdotes, interspersed with authentic news reports and interviews, original illustrations, and captivating photography.

Disregarding conventional storytelling devices, this art book promises an immersive experience that reflects the perpetual cycle of time, celebrating the history and mystery of the LOUIS XIII cognac legacy in a way never seen before,” explained the premium publisher in a statement.

Each episode bears witness, in its own particular way, to the historic presence of Louis XIII at the key events that defined the 20th century, such as the 1900 Paris World’s Fair, an Atlantic crossing aboard the Normandie, or a journey on the Orient Express. It, therefore, seems perfectly reasonable to find Louis XIII in the august company of Winston Churchill or King George VI.

Displaying the visionary thinking for which the LOUIS XIII cognac is renowned, the author envisions the part LOUIS XIII will play in shaping our future. An imagined conversation between an ancient oak tree and a dryad (a woodland spirit) takes place deep in the Limousin Forest in 2028, while a first-hand account records the 2115 world premiere of 100 Years: The Movie You Will Never See.

The engaging stories feature characters and situations, both real and invented, interspersed with authentic documents and supported by original illustrations and graceful photography.

The £150 art book by author Farid Chenoune will be available in selected bookstores worldwide as of April 2020.

We delve into the diaries and letters of two passionate travellers aboard the America-bound cruiser Normandie, 1935; the agenda of King George VI and his wife Queen Elizabeth on their visit to Versailles in 1938; and the first-hand account of a young millionaire who, while on a trip to Constantinople in 1928, requested that the Orient-Express stop so that the surface of his brandy might lie still.

It will take you on a journey through the history of Louis XIII, a luxury cognac from the House of Rémy Martin.
