The gaze of artists on water: art exhibition at 1,618 Sustainable Luxury Fair 2012

Every year the 1,618 Sustainable Luxury Fair in Paris dedicates an important space to a contemporary art exhibition that presents art works and artists’ points of view on issues of consumption and sustainable development.

After 2 previous editions focused on consumption and urban issues, the art exhibit curated by commissioner Lauranne Germond in cooperation with Emilie Bannwarth is focused on the artistic gaze in water.

Water is the same since forever, one single source that rejuvenates bodies and plants indistinguishably, over and over again, uniting all living elements in one shared past. We are made up of 65% water cells that were once part of another body.

Camille Goujon, Monte Laster, Mihai Grecu, Angelika Markul, Lucy+Jorje Orta, Francois Ronsiaux, Thomas Tronel Gauthier, Marie Velardi are the artists whose works were presented during the “1,618” art exhibition.
