This one-of-a-kind conceptual piece pays tribute to the codes of connected watches, incorporating refined Vantablack technology with traditional, fine mechanical watchmaking.

Eternal timekeeping without the hassle of notifications, sounds and charging cables – take a look at H. Moser & Cie’s final version of the original Swiss smartwatch.

No updates required, no lousy autonomy, no unnecessary features, no annoying notifications, just the only reminder you ever really need: To disconnect from all the noise and cherish each and every moment. This is the H. Moser & Cie Swiss Alp Watch Final Upgrade, the ultimate edition in the series that has championed traditional watchmaking since 2016.

The Swiss Alp Watch Final Upgrade is a concept watch, a symbol of the end of the Swiss Alp Watch collection, production of which will cease.

Similar to previous models from this line, the Swiss Alp Watch Final Upgrade is inspired by the modern design of smartwatches, yet it is completely mechanical. With its 100% Swiss Manufacture movement and a minimum power reserve of 96 hours, it is developed to last and is perfectly equipped for the next generation. Instead of downloading information, the Schaffhausen manufacture thinks it’s time we recharged ourselves.

” A watch must remain an expression of emotion, make you dream and perform its main purpose: To display the time.” -H. Moser & Cie luxury watch manufacture.

The final edition of H. Moser & Cie.’s paradoxical, satirical and whimsical Swiss Alp Watch, a timepiece that mimics the look of a “smart watch” with the tried and tested ingenuity of a traditional, mechanical watch movement. The Swiss Alp Watch Final Upgrade is crafted in a DLC steel case and is paired with a Vantablack dial. Instead of a seconds hand, a running indicator reminiscent of “loading” symbol continuously turns at 6 o’clock.

Known to be the blackest material produced artificially, Vantablack and the blackened hour and minute hands perfectly evoke the standby appearance of the watch. This notion is further reinforced by the offset small second at 6 o’clock, redesigned for the occasion as a shaded disc made up of openings. Evoking the constant passing of time, this symbol serves as a reminder that the here and now is all that matters.

“This idea was conceived by a customer and friend of the brand, a true enthusiast and fan of the Swiss Alp Watch collection. He came to visit us with an extremely precise design and we immediately wanted to create this model, perfectly in line with our philosophy, with a touch of humour and a hint of provocation”, explains Edouard Meylan, CEO of H. Moser & Cie.

The MOVEMENT
The HMC 324 is a hand-wound movement, specifically designed for rectangular watches. It features a plug-and-play modular escapement and a power reserve indicator on the movement side, keeping the watch’s dial uncluttered.

FUNCTIONS
Reminiscent of the loading symbol of a digital device, the turning of the small seconds disc represents the mechanical equivalent – reminding the wearer of the fleeting nature of time.

HIGHLIGHT
Incorporating the darkest-man made material ever made, the Vantablack dial is made up of millions of carbon nanotubes which capture 99.965% of light photons. By limiting the light reflections, the dial gives off the impression of a black hole.

Last month, H.Moser & Cie unveiled the minimalist yet visually and literally striking Endeavour Concept Minute Repeater Tourbillon in a new special edition in titanium with an Electric Blue dial, a new color for the brand. The high-end timepiece is limited to 20 pieces.
