The woman as well-known as the brand itself, Donatella Versace have recently released a book charting the history of the Italian fashion label and her artistic direction at the helm. The tome called VERSACE gives a snapshot into the design studio offering essays from fashion heavyweights and exclusive imagery.
Having been at the forefront of the Versace label since 1997, Donatella has guided the Versace name into a bold lifestyle brand. This richly illustrated tome by Rizzoli chronicles Donatella’s interpretation of Versace in the twenty-first century and her remarkable work as the curator and face of Versace.
“For me fashion cannot just be confined to one enclosed space. Fashion is part of pop culture, speaks the language of rock and is closely related to art and technology. It is thanks to clothing that contemporary icons create their unforgettable image,” says Donatella Versace.
Featuring photography from Mario Testino, Richard Avedon and Steven Meisel, it is a visual feast, including contemporary shots and images from the archives. “From the exquisiteness of the red carpet and the inner scenes of the brand’s atelier to the stature of the original ‘supers’, such as Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington and Linda Evangelista, the book exudes the fascination of the celebrated fashion house.
Meet the legendary style influencer at Harrods’ book signing; simply purchase your copy of VERSACE in advance from the Harrods Bookshop, Second Floor, or on the day from the Harrods Bookshop or the Versace boutique, First Floor. The first 50 customers who visit the Versace boutique on Monday 5th December with their book and receipt will be invited to meet Donatella and have their book personally signed. Donatella arrives at 1pm and you can queue from 12pm.
