Frauscher 858 Fantom Air. 8.6 metres and pleny of space

Classic design now presented as a luxurious air version.

In its 90th anniversary year the exclusive Frauscher Shipyard is expanding its product spectrum by launching another day cruiser that is loaded with features: the Frauscher 858 Fantom Air.

The 8.6 metre motor yacht is a natural evolution of the previous closed boat model – the Frauscher 858 Fantom. The new day cruiser debuted at Cannes Yachting Festival 2017 is presented with an even more spacious design and additional first-class details. Before the official launch, the company has alreadyreceived the first orders for the day cruiser, which will leave the shipyard in Ohlsdorf in the spring of 2018.

A spacious Day Cruiser.

The Air variant was developed by the successful trio that designed the Frauscher 858 Fantom consisting of Thomas Gerzer, the long-time head of development at Frauscher Shipyard, the yacht design engineer Harry Miesbauer, who is responsible for the hull design, and the renowned design partner KISKA.

“With the Frauscher 858 Fantom Air we hope to continue the success of the 686 Lido, the 747 Mirage Air and the 1017 Lido – all yachts with a centred exposed helm – of which we have sold more then 200 in recent years. The 858 Fantom Air is yet another model that is ideal for a quiet
picnic in the bay or for an adventurous sprint through the waves,” explained Michael Frauscher.

The 858 Fantom Air welcomes its guests with an exquisite teak bathing deck in the stern, which is adjoined by a spacious, comfortably upholstered lounge area for two. A teak gangway connects the aft area of the yacht with the main cockpit and its centred exposed helm, from which the Frauscher 858 Fantom Air gets its name.

Two padded seats in the bow provide for additional comfort. Under the seats and under the cockpit floor – in addition to the stowage space in the bow and two additional shelf areas in the wall of the yacht – there is plenty of room for stowing luggage, life vests, etc.

Two Bimini awnings can be opened within seconds to protect the passengers from the sun. Alternatively, a spray hood is available for protection against rain while driving. When not in use, the awnings disappear into the yacht’s frame – just one convenient feature of the innovative design concept. The three- dimensional look, the characteristic hull design with its high prow and the striking LED-accented centre helm that offers ample space for two helmsmen make the day cruiser an absolute eye-catcher on any water.

What could be more important than a cold drink on board?

On a Frauscher boat, simply reach into the 30- litre chiller drawer under the seat. Excellent performance is guaranteed with the powerful cooling compressor, and the device can be pre-cooled using the Frauscher boat dockside power connection. The drawer front matches the boat colour and the chiller has a fully adjustable thermostat. A ball bearing mountensures the drawer opens and closes smoothly. The chiller is activated by a switch on the console.

Climbing into the water and back on board is easy with this premium bathing ladder with three retractable teak steps. The ladder can even be extended from the water. It is one of the standard fittings on all Frauscher boats.

That is why the brand’s preferred suppliers of entertainment solutions are well-known brands like Clarion, BOSE or Fusion Electronics. All boats fitted with this equipment are Bluetooth, iPod, iPhone and USB-compatible, and Frauscher also offers customised entertainment solutions to meet the needs of all boating audiophiles.

The spacious day cruiser (from € 199,536.00 (incl. 20% VAT) equipped with 300 – 430 HP engine weights from 2.500 kg and can entertain up to 9 guests.

The Frauscher 858 Fantom Air is available with three different motor configurations and a power spectrum from 300 HP to 430 HP. The fuel tank with a capacity of 370 litres makes the yacht suitable also for longer excursions. The motor yacht is available with optional features such as a lounge package and a refrigerated drawer. As with all its boats, Frauscher offers the choice of individual colours and designs.

Thanks to the numerous prizes which Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille has received since its creation in 2014, it’s now an event that’s firmly established as proved by the fact that more and more motor manufacturers are displaying cars at this rendezvous.

The 4th Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille held on Sunday 10th September in the Chantilly Château domain fulfilled all its promises. Boosted by its first staging, which placed it firmly among the international benchmarks for Concours D’Elégance, the event continues to progress both in terms of visitors and in therichness of the cars entered for the different concours. Thus, 16 300 spectators (an increase of 20%compared to 2016) were attracted by the vehicles on show this year with five concept cars competing for the Concours d’Elégance prize and 82 historic cars from all over the world (35% from France and 65%from abroad), were all victory contenders in their respective classes and also for one of the two ultimate titles of Best of Show awarded depending on their era (pre or post-war).

2017 Concours d’Etat

For the 2017 Concours d’Etat, the organiser Peter Auto decided to celebrate in its own way Ferrari’s 70th anniversary with the Le Mans 24 Hours as the main theme. Thus, 28 cars bearing the Prancing Horse badge, all of which had taken part in the most famous endurance race in the world, were gathered together for the occasion divided up into five classes.

From this unique exhibition, an exceptional car won the favours of the jury and the Best of Show for the post-war cars went to the Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa 58 (châssis #0728)(owned by Sir Michael Kadoorie), winner of the Sarthe classic in 1958 driven by Olivier Gendebien and Phil Hill. Among the pre-war cars the class reserved for Bugattis attracted the attention of the jury.

Gathering four Type 57 Ss together in the same place was a feat in itself and it justified the awarding of three prizes for this class crowned by the Best of Show for the 1936 Bugatti Atlantic (châssis #57374) owned by Americans Robson Walton and Peter Mullin, who had already received a prize at Chantilly in 2014 for his 1937 Delahaye 135M cabriolet with Figoni and Falaschi coachwork.

Among the special prizes were the Prix Spécial FFVE for Authenticity awarded to the Antony Type A1 and the whole Antony collection and the Prix FIVA for Preservation awarded to the 1947 Chrysler Town Country.

The presence of 42 clubs that displayed 800 cars in the domain was also an integral part of the show and helped make the huge garden party to which visitors were welcome, a success. Looked after by the FFVE, the Grand Prix des Clubs went to the Fiat Fan Club for the overall quality of its presentation.

Car enthusiasts, all generations combined, as well as families were again attracted by the programme ofthe fourth Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille, which celebrated the art de vivre and le savoir-faire à la Française by means of several workshops and activities in the Chantilly domain.
