Burberry to plunge into skincare

Burberry to launch skincare division.

Building on the success of Burberry cosmetics line launched in 2010, the British fashion house announced a future line of skincare products. The luxury label follows into the footsteps of Gucci house, which also announced a beauty forray.

Creative director Christopher Bailey appeared in his debut public address since also taking over as CEO and announced the London luxury brand will be teaming up with an existing expert in the skincare field.

“We are talking to a range of possible partners about a range of possible relationships,” John Smith, chief operating officer told WWD.

The skincare products, probably, will be available at the standalone Burberry Beauty Box stores in London and Asia.

Some beauty products like Burberry Velvet Foundation already have an innovative oil-free formula with wild rose extract to hydrate the skin. The limited edition Body Cream enriched with the Burberry Body Eau de Parfum fragrance includes moisturising shea butter, vitamin-rich sunflower and softening macadamia seed oil, while the formula of Burberry light reflecting Lip Glow contains nourishing oils and ceramides that “leave the lips hydrated, supple and naturally plumped”.
