Versace for H&M follow-up collection – on sale online this January

The story goes on: the spring pre-collection designed by Donatella Versace for H&M available this January

A follow-up to the current Versace for H&M collection will go on sale online this January.  The line will include, according to British newspaper The Mirror, gold strappy sandals, fruit print bikinis and berry patterned hotpants.

The news of the second Versace for H&M line comes as a surprise as many of H&M’s past collaborations with labels such as Stella McCartney and Lanvin have only been for 1 season. The Sonia Rykiel collaboration was a two-season partnership, although the 2009 lingerie line and 2010 knitwear collection were announced at the same time.

Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld, whose H&M capsule collection went on sale back in 2004, has previously criticized the limited edition nature of the designer partnerships, saying it leaves many customers disappointed.

Meanwhile, there has still been no word on whether the rumored Tom Ford for H&M line will go ahead.
