John Lobb Balmoral Overshoe
To protect the upper and sole from water damage, the British heritage footwear label John Lobb teamed up in 2009 with the Norwegian premium overshoe specialist Swims, famous as the creator of the modern galosh, to create rubber protectors. Called The Balmoral, the overshoes were designed to fit seamlessly over a pair of John Lobb shoes to safeguard against bad weather.
A stylish solution, embodying the essence of practicality: Wear your favorite shoes, slip on SWIMS when the weather is rough, slip’em off when you arrive at your destination. Enhanced comfort is assured and your shoes are guaranteed to stay shiny. For slippery conditions, the bottom of the overshoe was made to provide extra traction.
Swims’ second collaboration was with Armani fashion house for their Fall Winter 2012 collection. In January 2012, the Armani by SWIMS overshoe appeared on the runway in Milan. SWIMS has created a bespoke collection of modern day overshoes aligned with the unique artistry of Armani shoes.
“With the trend in footwear shifting toward craftsmanship and high quality materials, the need for SWIMS to protect shoes from inclement weather conditions is increasingly important,” explained Swims. For Autum Winter 2013 Swims has joined forces with British menswear designers Agi & Sam.
