Bremont announces Speedbird sailor Hannah White as its latest ambassador-2016

Luxury, aviation themed British watchmaker Bremont Watch Company announced adventurer, broadcaster and sailor Hannah White as the latest Bremont Ambassador. White joins the likes of three times America’s Cup winner Jimmy Spithill, polar explorer Ben Saunders and mountaineer Kenton Cool.

Hannah has been at the forefront of the world of adventure and sailing since the age of 15 and Bremont is proud to welcome her as their latest ambassador,” announced Bremont

Hannah White is well known for taking on extreme challenges like the gruelling Haute Route Cycle Race and sailing the Atlantic solo three times. Currently, Hannah has her sights set on being the world’s fastest woman on water with Project Speedbird. A very British endeavour, Project Speedbird is run by Hannah herself alongside Engineer and Project Speedbird’s technical director Dave Chisholm.

The project started with Hannah becoming the fastest person to cross the English Channel in June 2015 and will reach a climax this year as Hannah attempts the women’s two-speed records over both 500 metres and one mile at Grafham Water Centre in Cambridgeshire.

Alongside her adventures Hannah has forged a career in front of the camera as a broadcaster; presenting adventure shows, commentating on the Extreme Sailing Series and most recently anchoring BT Sports’ coverage of the America’s Cup, of which Bremont is the Official Timing Partner.

“It is amazing to see the progress of Project Speedbird which fits perfectly with the Bremont adventurous spirit. We are all following her progress eagerly and can’t wait to see her break the women’s world speed records. Hannah reaches incredible speeds of over 30 knots on Speedbird; she is a true adventurer both on and off the water,” commented Bremont Co-Founder, Giles English.

“I’m thrilled to be a Bremont Ambassador. Bremont is an iconic British brand and what Dave and myself are doing together in a little shed in the countryside is testament to British design and engineering; every part of the boat has been designed and built in the UK. Bremont’s philosophy of ‘Tested Beyond Endurance’ describes perfectly what we are trying to do on Grafham Water and I’m really excited to have the Bremont logo on my boat as we attempt to break both records in March and April this year on British waters,” explained Hannah White.

First ‘Mini Miglia’ Rally staged in Scotland. Jaguar announces Star-studded Driver Line-up for Mille Miglia 2015

Jaguar Heritage hosted the inaugural ‘Mini Miglia’ in Scotland.

Jaguar Mini Miglia 2015--
Jaguar
is celebrating its 80th anniversary by once again taking on the legendary challenge that is the Mille Miglia – the world’s most beautiful race. Held from 14 -17 May in Italy, Jaguar Heritage Racing will be fielding a team of drivers who will cover more than 1,000 miles from Brescia-Rome-Brescia in nine of the marque’s most celebrated models.

Crowds lining the route will get to see examples of historically-significant Jaguar XKs, C-types and D-types hurtling past them with famous faces in the cockpits.

To give 2015 Mille Miglia entrants a chance to familiarise themselves with the iconic sports cars they’ll be driving in Italy, Jaguar hosted a ‘Mini Miglia’ in the winding roads of the Scottish Highlands. Jaguar Director of Design Ian Callum, Chef and TV Presenter James Martin, Supermodel David Gandy and more of this year’s Jaguar team launched a video to showcase how they prepare for 2015 Mille Miglia in the heart of the Scottish highlands.

At this year’s Mille Miglia race Jaguar Heritage will come with nine of the marque’s most famous 1950s models. The Star line-up of drivers comes from motorsport, music and entertainment:

Five-time winner of the Le Mans 24hr, three-time Daytona 24hr winner and world sportscar veteran, Derek Bell, will make his Mille Miglia debut driving a Jaguar C-type. Derek is driving as a guest of art collector and classic car enthusiast Adam Lindemann.

Piloting the second C-type, ‘NDU 289’, will be Jaguar Vehicle Integrity Chief Engineer Mike Cross, while the final C-type, ‘PUG 676’, will be driven by Royal Automobile Club Motoring Committee Chairman, Ben Cussons. Driving ‘RSF 303’, a priceless Jaguar D-type ‘Long Nose’ Ecurie Ecosse racer, which finished second at Le Mans in 1957, will be Jaguar Director of Design, Ian Callum. A veteran of the Mille Miglia, Ian drove with US chat show host Jay Leno in the 2014 event – this year he will be partnering up with businessman and classic car enthusiast, Clive Beecham.

At the wheel of a Jaguar MK VII will be a man who’s no stranger to speed and sleep deprivation – Charley Boorman. More used to two wheels than four thanks to his many motorbike adventures, Charley will be partnered by Bremont co-founder Giles English. The fastest saloon car of its day, a Jaguar MK VII was famously piloted to victory in the 1956 Monte Carlo Rally by Ronnie Adams with co-drivers Frank Biggar and Derek Johnstone.
