Serpenti by Bulgari reinvents itself

Bulgari at Baselworld 2012

The Bulgari Serpenti watch collectionis a contemporary reinterpretation of one of the brand’s most famous icons. The figure of the reptile, a symbol of eternally youth and immortality in the mythological bestiary, is an integral and long-established part of the aesthetic universe of the Italian jeweller, and consistently appears in the most striking Bulgari creations.Today the Serpenti collection is declined into three different aesthetics:  Serpenti High Jewellery, Serpenti Jewellery and Serpenti.

Year after year, this icon among wristwatches brilliantly reinvents itself. This 2012 new interpretation colours its scales with jet-black enamel then sets them with brilliant-cut diamonds. This marvel among watches unfurls its diaphanous pink gold coils twice around the wrist and deploys a total of 385 precious stones. The Bulgari bracelet extends to form the case, which becomes the reptile’s head. The watch houses a personalised quartz movement and is encrusted top and bottom with six brilliant-cut diamonds. They flank a black sapphire dial whose 12 hourmarkers are also set with 33 diamonds.

The effigy of the snake is associated with another of the brand’s trademark creations, the Tubogas bracelet. Coiled around the wrist, the sensual and playful Tubogas was developed by Bulgari in the 1950s and has remained unique to this day.

Baselworld 2012 will also be the stage for the new Bulgari Papillon Voyageur from the Daniel Roth collection. The new watch model issued in 99-piece limited edition is equipped with an in-house movement.
