Montblanc unveiled its new Montblanc x Naruto collection at Happoen in the heart of Tokyo.

Featuring writing instruments and accessories, leather goods and smart watches, the cross-category collection celebrates the art of creative storytelling and the cultural influence of Naruto, the Japanese manga and anime series that has captured the imagination of fans all around the world and celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.

Guests including Evan Mock, Lucky Blue Smith, Shuzo Ohira, Nic Kaufmann and Hikari Mori were immersed in the magical and colourful world of Naruto, the orphaned ninja who navigates a fictional world in his search of recognition and fulfilling his ambition of becoming his village’s leader and strongest ninja. Guided through the beautiful traditional Japanese gardens of Happoen, guests enjoyed a cocktail reception, dinner and specially curated Montblanc x Naruto experience at HAKUHO – KAN, a venue with the best of Japanese architecture.

Inspired by the design of the Montblanc x Naruto collection that emphasizes the importance of the transmission of knowledge by highlighting the relationship between Naruto and his mentor Jiraiya, the Naruto team created a special anime for the launch, reinforcing the power of writing and transmission. The film was premiered after dinner, following an introduction by Montblanc CEO Nicolas Baretzki and TV Tokyo Holdings Inc. Senior Managing Director Yukio Kawasaki.

Entertainment during the evening included Mademoiselle Yulia, a DJ, fashion icon, kimono stylist, as well as Tsugaru Shamisen Sangenshi, a trio that played different genres of music including pop and anime songs, reborn with the unique sound of the shamisen. To coincide with the launch, a Montblanc x Naruto Pop In took over the Montblanc Osaka boutique.
