This is the future of fashion and future of NFTs. The luxury Italian brand Dolce & Gabbana is now in tune with the latest digital trend of NFTs, the one-of-a-kind digital assets that cannot be interchanged with something else.

Dolce&Gabbana launches its first NFT collection #DGGenesi, designed by Dolce & Gabbana exclusively for UNXD, a curated marketplace for digital luxury and culture. The collection consists of 9 unique digital works which are inspired by the wonders of Venice, paying tribute to the events of Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda collection and its many artistic and cultural expressions.

For D&G, Venice is a shrine to romanticism, a palace of refinement and a sanctuary of extraordinary beauty.

Personally designed by Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana for UNXD, this collection features nine incredible, one-of-a-kind items with unrivaled digital, physical, and experiential benefits. The Lion Crown, the Dodge Crown, the Impossible Jacket Series, the Impossible Tiara, the Glass Suit, the Dress from a Dream are all celebrations of human ingenuity, artistry, and craftsmanship. These spectacular, museum-grade works took thousands upon thousands of hours to craft.

“Venice represents the perfect harmony of opposites that attract: it is romantic and sensual, melancholic and joyful, rational and visionary, luminous and nocturnal, sacred and profane, dark and golden. Returning to Venice always fills us with unique emotions, which we hold dear in our hearts. Like a breath held too long that you have to let go, Venice is our dream.” – Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana.

The first concept revealed last June as part of Collezione Genesi was named Dress from a Dream, and was based on a vivid dream from the creativity of the designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.

The Dolce&Gabbana Alta Moda collection arouses unique emotions as exquisite silks, brocades, velvets, glass and crystals, embroideries and precious fabrics come together in a perfect melody of beauty and Italian craftsmanship.

Alta Moda, the pinnacle of women’s Italian high fashion, features the finest craftsmanship for the female form. Dress From a Dream I and II, the founding inspiration for Collezione Genesi, were born from a shared dream between Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. Inspired by the handmade historical tradition of Venetian glass that made the city world famous, these dresses twin in their physical and metaphysical digital form.

Completing the designers’ dream, Alta Sartoria features masterful works of wearable art for the male form. The Glass Suit builds boldly on Alta Moda’s glasswork theme, featuring 72 hand-embroidered chalices. Transcending the boundaries of the physical world, this collection also features three breathtaking “Impossible” jackets that can only exist in the metaverse.

This collection’s Alta Gioielleria stars three regal pieces of sculptural art infused with the opulence of Venice.

Leading the lineup is the crown jewel of Piazza San Marco: a piece so decadent it’s suitable only for the historic ruler of Venice and true King of crypto: the Doge. The Doge Crown is encircled with the golden zodiac signs of the piazza’s iconic clocktower, laced with gems, and capped with the shimmering rays of a bejeweled sun.

Coming next is the Lion Crown. The maned heads surrounding the crown corona originate from both their association with royalty and the city’s Lion of Venice. This motif features on the coat of arms and across many of Venice’s most architecturally significant landmarks.

The set is completed with a digital tiara fit for The Queen of the Adriatic. Titled the Impossible Tiara, the delicate white gold filigree features a constellation of neon turquoise tourmalines from Paraiba (Brazil) crowned by red emeralds. Each gem is inspired by real ones that cannot physically no longer be found on Earth, while the 16-carat central red emerald shimmers with an extra metaphysical inner fire.
