More than Porcelain: Equilibrium by POMD’OR x Rosenthal x Edward van Vliet

Transform your bathroom into a designer oasis of well-being for the entire day: bright mornings, relaxed evenings and mysterious nights. The bathroom accessories designed by Dutch designer Edward van Vliet are an excellent option for your super yachts to have an exclusive life on board.

You are entering the bathroom in the glistening light of the morning to gather energy for the rest of the day. Elements in chrome, combined with gentle colours and organic shapes, symbolise the morning in the “Equilibrium” Collection by POMD’OR x Rosenthal x Edward van Vliet. The evening bathes the day in warm light while you’re relaxing in the bathroom, refreshing skin and soul, with time standing still. The reddish colour of copper signifies the evening in the “Equilibrium”.

The “Equilibrium” POMD’OR x Rosenthal Collection for the bathroom combines the creativity of the designer Edward van Vliet, with Rosenthal’s many years’ expertise and excellence when it comes to porcelain production and the special design of POMD’OR.

“Equilibrium” includes elegant bathroom accessories, bathroom furniture, and even a free-standing bathtub, which are furnished with matte and shiny surfaces, details that are nice to touch as well as with fine, genuine metal decorations. Choose accessories from classic white or fresh celadon green porcelain, combined with three metal colours: chrome, bronze or gold.

This mirror will impress you with its size alone. Its imposingly structured frame, however, turns it into a piece of art. Thanks to the integrated heating foil, condensation will be a thing of the past.

Rosenthal’s Equilibrium wins German Design Award 2019.

“Despite its name, our bathroom collection Equilibrium almost made us lose our balance – that’s how much we enjoyed the German Design Award 2019,” revealed Rosenthal speaking about winning the German Design Award 2019.

The goal of the German Design Awards are to discover, present, and honour unique trends in design. The experts of the German Design Council are constantly nominating the best international products and projects for participation.

The competition is divided into the segments “Excellent Product Design” and “Excellent Communications Design”. The 45-member international jury decide on the “Special Mention”, “Winner”, and “Gold” awards. In addition, the”German Design Award Personality” is honouring the life work of an outstanding designer. The special “German Design Award Newcomer” will be presented to a young up-and-coming designer.

For the first time, the German Design Council will further pay tribute to impressive products that embody timeless design or that continue to re-think and re-interpret a design classic with the new category “Classics & Re-Editions” in Excellent Product Design. The Awards ceremony takes place on 8 February 2019 at the Ambiente trade show in Frankfurt.

“The collection, as a whole, is sophisticated, but maybe one of my favorites is the mirror, with its ribbed frame and reflection of light. I also love the washbasin on the green marble base,” confessed Edward van Vliet.

“We start each project creating a world. We build a context before we start designing. For this project we created a Waterworld. For us, this Waterworld is closely connected to architecture, the reason we work with natural materials, like stone, wood, and porcelain. There is always a strong link between architecture and geometrics. The colours used are directly related to nature. The Celadon green we use for this collection originated in old China,” explained the
designer.

The furniture’s wooden surfaces are pressed to form haptic structures, creating an experience for your hands as well. Thanks to the modular system, it fits in every room size and, based on selectable metal feet in chrome, bronze or gold, always matches your accessories.
