Guerlain Shalimar Parfum Initial – Sur les ailes du desir

Guerlain has the privilege, along with Chanel‘s house, to have some essences considered timeless classics in terms of perfumes.

Shalimar perfume is instantly recognizable. The boundless love story between Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal inspired Jacques Guerlain in 1925 to create the world’s first oriental fragrance. A subtle sensual mix of flowers and wood accents, Shalimar has become radiant essence of love and femininity.

Guerlain revisits the mythic fragrance from the perfume house that has become an objet of desire, creating Shalimar Parfum Initial. This precious and complex scent is an ode to the past that welcomes the future. The floral heart notes of Centifolia Rose and Italian Iris are joined by delicious vanilla and tonka bean, longtime favorites of the Guerlain perf umers.

Guerlain features its muse Natalia Vodianova as the face of a new solar and innocent Eve, clothed only in the sensual envelope of her fragrance. The powdery juice is exquisitely feminine, an invitation to mystery and discovery of the well- guarded secret in a replica of the original bottle designed by Raymond Guerlain.

The ad campaign photos are supposed to represent innocence and chastity of woman’s body. The photos were taken by Paolo Roversi. Shalimar Parfum Initial is available as 40, 60 and 100ml EDP, from March 2011.
