Charlize Theron spotlights the new white model in the Dior VIII collection of ceramic timepieces. For the spring summer 2012 Dior VIII watch (diameter 33mm, automatic movement) turns white – a white as blazing as the black was somber on the very first Dior’s models.
Dior VIII, the most recent addition to the Dior house’s watch collection, made a splash at the Basel fair in 2011: here was a line of ceramic models in deepest, most intense black, illuminated by diamonds or colored gemstones.
The new Dior VIII white features a case and bracelet in white high-tech ceramic and steel. The turning bezel is set with white ceramic inserts, and the white mother-of-pearl dial is set with diamonds, antireflective sapphire crystal glass, transparent case-back and white lacquered oscillating weight. The watch is water resistant to 50 metres.
This week Dior celebrated also the opening of its new Dior Homme Soho pop-up store in New York in the presence of Kris Van Assche, the Dior Homme creative director. Also Dior dressed a lot of celebrities at the Met Gala in New York.
