Lexus’ 28th Century Spacecraft SKYJET

Lexus unveils Skyjet – a single-seat pursuit craft for Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.

Let’s look to the future to improve the present. Actor Dane DeHaan stars in Luc Besson’s VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS. He drives a 28th Century Spacecraft Skyjet, a single-seat pursuit craft brought to life by Lexus and film studio EuropaCorp. Lexus collaborated with the Valerian creative team, as they
imagined and brought to life the vision for the SKYJET.

The Valerian team created the SKYJET with the ambition of featuring a vehicle grounded in reality but befitting of the Valerian world, set 700 years in the future. The creative team met with Lexus‘ Chief Engineer, Takeaki Kato and the Lexus design team, to discuss incorporating believable, imaginative technologies and contemporary design cues into the final iteration of the SKYJET.

The SKYJET design also incorporates an adapted interpretation of Lexus’ signature “spindle” grille, and a similar headlight design to that of the hotly anticipated 2018 Lexus LC coupe, defined by an athletic and aerodynamic shape.

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets features an all-star cast including Cara Delevigne, Clive Owen, Ethan Hawke, Rihanna, and Kris Wu. The project marks Luc Besson’s most ambitious film to date and the largest-budget European motion picture ever produced. The feature film is an adaptation of the French comic series ‘Valérian,’ written by Pierre Christin and illustrated by Jean-Claude Mézières. The film is produced by Virginie Besson-Silla.

The automotive brand is set to provide unique fan experiences over the next nine months, designed to bring enthusiasts from around the world closer to the action leading up to the film’s release in July 2017.

The latest innovation from Perini Navi… the new 47m with an unprecedented experience at the helm

Forbes named Perini Navi‘s latest 70m S/Y Sybaris superyacht, Perini Navi’s second largest yacht to date (after the Maltese Falcon), as one of the most talked about yachts in Monaco. All Perini’s sea creations quickly become the talk of the town. It is the same with the new 47m. The graceful profile of the new 47m with low sill lines, provides unobstructed 360 degree views of the horizon from the aft cockpit, main salon and bridge.

The sleek hull lines and impressive sail plan (2,315 sqm) are powered by Perini Navi’s proprietary captive reel winches and furling systems. This new 47m sailing yacht has been conceived by Perini Navi’s experienced team of inhouse designers.

The sailing experience of the 47m is further accentuated by Perini Navi’s patented fly-by-wire steering system, which boasts twin rudders and ensures tactile feedback for an unprecedented experience at the helm. While the revolutionary

concept keel design offers further improved performance and draught options of 3.9m and 9.5m. The Perini Navi 47m has accommodation for eight crew.

With an expanse of close to 20m from the transom to the bridge- of living space all on one level – the Perini Navi 47m sloop provides the comfort and options for guests for which the brand is revered.

In total, there are 142 sqm of exterior living space on the Perini Navi 47m to be enjoyed by guests. The flush teak foredeck not only houses the yacht’s main tender, but also offers a third outdoor living area which has an optional awning, in addition to the expansive flybridge and beach club aft.

Below decks the owner and guest areas are also extensive, with four elegant staterooms, including the full beam owner’s cabin with its adjacent study.

Day Cruisers: Verve 40 from Azimut Yachts – the first weekender built by the shipyard

Sporty and sophisticated, the Azimut Verve 40 is the first all-Italian Weekender. On its first official outing after an exclusive premiere at the Newport Boat Show, Azimut’s new Verve 40 was given its international launch at the FLIBS/ Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, marking the entry of the shipyard into the popular sport walkaround segment on the US market.

Azimut|Benetti confirmed once again just how important the American market is by taking an even bigger fleet than last year to the 2016 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show from November 3 to 7. The Group was represented by twenty one models at this US boat show, one of the most important in the country, and it is no coincidence that the event has been chosen as the showcase for the worldwide launch of the new Verve 40 from Azimut Yachts. Another standout yacht on show is the Azimut 66 Fly, while the Benetti shipyard will be represented by Vivace 125’ (Ironman), Veloce 140’ (Drew) and Crystal 140’ (Mr D).

Verve 40 combines all the typical characteristics of traditional US walkarounds and day cruisers, but stands out from them for its elegance, its sophisticated style and its spaciousness, with a cabin area so big it clearly earns its definition as a weekender. Fitted with three Mercury Verado engines rated 350 hp, Verve 40 has a top speed of 44 knots and cruises at 37 knots.
