Discover the night sky: Caran d’Ache Caelograph

Caran d’Ache Caelograph Collectionan invention by Caran d’Ache

Caran d’Ache, the Swiss “Maison de Haute Ecriture”, produced an unique instrument that explores the sky and the stars. Like inventors always searching for new solutions, the craftsmen at Caran d’Ache have worked closely with an astronomer to create Caelograph luxury fine writing instrument collection. Caelograph includes a fountain pen, roller pens, an inkwell, and a compass.

This limited edition writing instrument helps you discover the night sky. Its unique mechanism shows which constellation and stars are visible at a specific date and time.

Caran d’Ache Caelograph features a mobile sky chart, engraved on a midnight blue Chinese lacquer, indicating the stars and constellations that are visible at any chosen time and date. The cap and the writing block are engraved with the iconic hour lines of a sundial. The compass rose on the tip of the pen, and the clip in the form of a compass needle, evoke the close link that has always existed between astronomy and navigation.

Alpha (the brightest star in a contellation), Sirius (the brightest star in the entire sky) and Zenith (the part of the sky that is directly above the observer), represent the 3 limited series of the Caelograph pen. Each edition is available on three northern latitudes 45N (ex: Geneva), 30N (ex: Shanghai), 20N (ex. Hong Kong).

The Caelograph limited edition is accompanied by a personalised ink bottle, with a stopper produced in the same finish as the writing instrument.
