Airbus commits to extending ACH130 Aston Martin Edition production following rapid market success.

Airbus Corporate Helicopters (ACH) has committed to continuing production of the ACH130 Aston Martin Edition after selling out almost the entire initial production run faster than expected.

Little more than two years after launch ACH has sold all but one of the 15 helicopters covered by its initial production commitment. Orders have come from across the world including South East Asia, Europe, Latin America, New Zealand and North America.

Now ACH has decided to commit to producing another 15 examples to address the continuing interest in the ACH130 Aston Martin Edition.

“There’s no question that bringing together our values of excellence and quality with Aston Martin’s commitment to high-performance automotive ellegance has resulted in a helicopter that always excites customers. But we really did not imagine that the market would move so fast, so I’m delighted to be able to commit to these future production slots and I look forward to talking to interested customers at EBACE.” – Head of ACH Frederic Lemos.

“As an ultra-luxury brand, Aston Martin is passionate about collaborating with designers and engineers from other disciplines to create special products that represent both our brand values and design ethos. We are delighted with the high interest in the ACH130 Aston Martin Edition and look forward to continuing our fantastic relationship with ACH.” – Aston Martin’s Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman.

@ACH145 helicopter by @Airbus x @Mercedes-Benz Design

Last November, Airbus and Mercedes-Benz Design team took ACH145 helicopter collaboration into new era.

Airbus Corporate Helicopters and Mercedes-Benz have signed a renewal of the highly successful design collaboration which introduced the concept of partnerships between the automotive and aerospace industries in 2010.

Since launch, 26 unique examples of the ACH145 Mercedes-Benz Style Edition have been sold and the companies revealed at the European Rotors show in Cologne that a facelift of the helicopter is already underway to further reflect contemporary design values.

The twin-engined ACH145 normally seats between four and eight passengers in a compact size particularly suited to the yacht market and recently benefited from a new five-blade rotor providing enhanced comfort in the cabin and 150kg of additional useful load.

Airbus Corporate Helicopters is the global market leader in the private and business aviation (PBA) sector with more than 1,900 aircraft fielded in 130 countries and a market share in excess of 50%. The ACH145 in particular has been the best seller in the twin-engine market for five years in a row.

Canadian entrepreneur and pilot Ashlynne Dale orders ACH125 helicopter

Canadian entrepreneur and private pilot Ashlynne Dale has signed an order to purchase an Airbus Corporate Helicopters ACH125.

Dale, co-founder and Executive Chairman of Norwood Sawmills, a globally recognized outdoor equipment and lifestyle brand and a global leader in portable sawmilling technology with 75+ registered patents to its credit, will fly the aircraft for personal use. The helicopter will be based in Ontario.

A longtime aviation enthusiast and pilot, Dale said: “Flying is one of my great passions, and it was clear to me from the beginning that Airbus teams clearly share this same passion for aviation, which is evidenced in the helicopters they build and the support they provide. I did a lot of research when I decided to purchase my own private helicopter, and I was impressed by the welcome I received from Airbus when I first approached them at this very trade show a few years ago. They answered all of my questions, gave me all the time and information I needed, and I’m extremely proud today to officially become a member of the Airbus family.”
