Taj Arabia: Dubai’s Taj Mahal replica to be the world’s grandest wedding venue

Dubai announced plans to build Taj Arabia, a replica of the iconic Taj Mahal that will become the world’s grandest wedding venue and a symbol of love and romance.

Taj Arabia will four times the size of the original India’s monument and will be set in the heart of the 41 million square foot Falcon City of Wonders on Emirates Road. Dubai developers and the Indian promoters of the $1 billion project are planning to construct the bigger version of Taj Mahal in just two years, a doubtful targeted date of completion according to gulfnews.

“Marriage is a celebration. It needs to be announced and glorified. Currently Dubai is not regarded as a wedding destination. People go to Bali and other exotic places to marry. Now they will come to Taj Arabia,” Arun Mehra, chairman of sub-developers Link Global Group, told GulfNews.

The “New City of Love” will have several architecturally themed residential and commercial buildings, plus a five-star hotel property with 300 rooms and 200 serviced apartments. The complex will also house a Eiffel Tower, Pyramids and the Great Wall of China, according to bbc. Taj Arabia will also be used as a backdrop for Bollywood movies in future.

“Traditionally in the UAE, marriage is not just a union of two people but also their families. The serviced apartments beside Taj Arabia will be ideal for wedding guests as they will have 10 large bedrooms and a hall,” said Mehra.

The Indian Taj Mahal monument is a Unesco World Heritage site and was built in the 17th Century.
