American fashion designer, businesswoman, and philanthropist Tory Burch opens beach getaway pop-up shop.
From Monday 2nd April to Monday 30th April, Tory Burch is launching a beach getaway pop-up shop at Harrods London, the luxury department store.
Located in Swimwear, First Floor, the pop-up will carry holiday styles from the Spring/Summer 2018 collection, inspired by the archive of the British interior designer, David Hicks. Expect an explosion of print and colour, housed in a beach cabana that nods to one of Hicks’s designs. The extensive assortment of swimwear, cover-ups, sandals, bags and accessories speaks to Tory’s love of travel and weekends at the beach. There is also a personalisation station, where you can add your initials to the popular Miller Canvas tote.
In addition to the swimwear pop-up, there will also be a Ready-to-Wear pop-up taking place in Designer Studio, First Floor at Harrods.
Tory’s Beach Pop-up at Selfridges London
Harrods is not the only beach pop-up opened in London this Spring. The American designer also announced a new pop-up at Selfridges London, a sunny celebration of vibrant color and pattern — and interior designer David Hicks.
“We spent a lot of time on getting the fit to be perfect. The entire swim collection, with colors and patterns inspired by the work of interior designer David Hicks, is sunny, bright and optimistic — which fits right in with the season,” said Tory Burch about her new collection.
“David Hicks was known for contrasting borders — he even did it in his gardens — and you can see them throughout the collection: lace pockets and contrast paneling on slip dresses and tops. We picked out the things we love that Hicks did and then thought about how they would make sense on the body. Geometrics was another one of his signatures. We weaved it into the collection as a print and by using it as borders for other prints, like in the scarf print dress I’m wearing,” added Burch.
Vacation like an editor with these spring styles that take getaway-chic up another notch:
Tory’s Sienna slides melds mule with sandal — nonchalant ease by way of Seventies Marrakech. Whatever your fashion M.O., there’s a Miller for you. Tory’s much-beloved sandal comes striped, patterned, embroidered, even espadrille style with a jute sole.
Have it both ways.
The most flattering silhouettes are Tory Burch latest collection of women’s swimwear. The new string bikini tops and bottoms, one-pieces and halter maillots are designed in vivid colors and prints.
The Biarritz Reversible One-Piece is designed in a sculpting, plunge-front shape with ties at the neck that reveal a flash of its contrasting color. The swimwear product is made of the highest-quality Sensitive Fabrics by Eurojersey (a world-renowned source from Italy), which feature four-way stretch, impeccable fit, long lifespan and SPF 50 sun protection.
A pretty refresh of a favorite prep style, Tory Burch’s ribbed Mila Polo (100% cotton) is set off with crochet trim at the collar and placket. Cut for a close fit, it makes a refined complement to tailored separates, denim and more.
Last, but not least: Tory’s take on the ultimate beach towel – luxuriously oversized and crafted from thick, soft brushed cotton yarns in Portugal.
“We looked into our own archive and brought back the graphic T-print from our first collection in 2004. We used it in ways we would want to wear today — like the terry beach tunics, fringed slides and oversized totes — in our signature orange and a cheerful blue. We think it’s a way David Hicks, our Spring 2018 inspiration, would appreciate — bold and audacious,” explained Tory on her blog.
