Net-A-Porter Unveils Gucci Kidswear Pop-up Store.
Alessandro Michele’s whimsical imagination lends itself so well to designing kidswear.
Net-A-Porter unveils the first kidswear pop-up shop with Gucci, marking the e-commerce site’s inaugural venture into the category. On Net-A-Porter for six weeks only, Gucci’s romantic yet light-hearted styles will be available for babies and Girls & Boys up to age 12, and will include unisex options.
Net-A-Porter welcomes kidswear with Gucci’s eclectic line up, featuring the signature animal print motifs and the iconic logo on smocks, dresses and babygros. Celebrating the imaginative aesthetic from the brand’s multi-layered palette, the offering is the essential counterpart to the runway collection. Pink party dresses fit for a princess and complete with a roaring embellished tiger, brightly embroidered hoodies and floral playsuits in the perfect baby blue ensure this vibrant collection is the ultimate mini me statement.
“The kidswear pop-up on Net-A-Porter is such an exciting moment for us. It’s our first foray into the category, and we’ve found the perfect partner in Gucci. With MR PORTER’s kidswear project also underway, this really marks the beginning of something special,” – said Alison Loehnis, President Net-A-Porter & MR PORTER.
Gucci Kids’ soft light-blue jersey romper is trimmed with pastel-pink frills along the Peter Pan collar and patch pockets, and appliquéd with signature blooming stems. Your little girl will love the miniature ducks on the buttons.
Gucci Kids’ wool poncho is perfect for keeping your little one warm during outdoor activities and play dates. It’s knitted with ‘Gucci Doll’ jacquard wording and playful motifs including hearts, kittens and fish in bright turquoise, orange, green and magenta hues. It has a ribbed turtleneck so there’s no need for a scarf.
The collection for girls includes embellished tulle dresses, floral-print silk-crepon dresses, wool-jacquard cardigans, faux pearl-embellished wool-felt coats, a bow-embellished cotton Oxford shirt dress, and appliquéd houndstooth intarsia wool jacket.
This pleated skirt is perfect for introducing Gucci to a brand new generation. Knitted in Italy from heavyweight wool that’ll keep your little one feeling warm, it’s edged with the label’s iconic red and green stripes. The elasticated waistband makes it easy to slip on and off, and will encourage your mini-me to start dressing herself.
Gucci Kids’ jacket is the mini-me version of the style for adults, but updated with a playful ‘Guccy Wishify’ at the back. Made in Italy from houndstooth intarsia wool that’ll feel so soft against her skin, it’s edged with the label’s signature red and navy stripes. Pair it with these shorts for a cute matching look.
Gucci kidswear launched on NET-A-PORTER.com on Monday 16th July and will be available for six weeks only, supported by a dedicated campaign inspired by Gucci’s vintage aesthetic. The campaign narrates the story of The Imagination Booth, as a group of children explore an antiquated photobooth that brings to life their fantastical stories through illustrated animations and Gucci motifs.
