Smart decanters with their access to an exclusive world of privileges are becoming a norm in the realm of premium spirits. Jim Beam is selling a smart decanter that pours whiskey on command. Voiced by 7th Generation Master Distiller Fred Noe, the decanter-turned virtual voice assistant includes a sleek compartment for bourbon storage and voice command capabilities. The iSommelier’s Smart Decanter makes every wine taste perfect in seconds. An hour in a traditional decanter is reduced to a single minute with iSommelier.

In February 2019, Louis XIII cognac will step into the future by integrating NFC technology into its Smart Decanter. Each high-end decanter will directly connect cognac enthusiasts to the Louis XIII Society, a private club where members can enjoy exclusive content, unique experiences and personalized services through their smartphones.

A SMALL NFC CHIP INTEGRATED IN THE CORK STOPPER OF THE Louis XIII DECANTER.

After removing the seal, fans will simply have to tap & scan their NFC-enabled smartphones on the cork stopper to access the Louis XIII Society landing page to create or log into their account. The decanter number will then be automatically registered.

Thanks to this small NFC chip, Louis XIII clients will get facilitated access to all the advantages of the Louis XIII Society. This private club offers bespoke services such as customized decanter engraving, pre-releases of limited editions, contact with a Louis XIII Personal Advisor for private tastings and ultimate experiences, and an invitation to network with Louis XIII Cognac
connoisseurs registered all over the world. In addition, the Louis XIII Smart Decanter will bring added services to clients allowing them to customize gifting messages that will appear when recipients scan their decanter.

NFC enables simple, rapid, intuitive and secure communication between two electronic objects. A mature and robust technology which has been growing in the past 20 years being used mainly by bank cards, biometric passports and travel tickets – until now. Today, with the introduction of contactless payment, connected wearables and the Internet of Things, NFC
technology is reinventing the way we experience life.

This innovation will be launched globally starting February 2019 and will be deployed all over the world the following months.

Ignasi Monreal is a celebrated multidisciplinary artist born in Barcelona and currently based in London. He is well known for creating Gucci‘s Spring/Summer 2018 campaign, the first of its kind to be fully digitally painted, for which he was shortlisted for a 2018 Beazley Designs of the Year Award, a global celebration of creative minds in design.

Monreal’s seven-week odyssey to eight Four Seasons properties around the world has lead to “Four Seasons: The Art of Hospitality” book. Four Seasons’ team unique stories are being told in a new book from Assouline Publishing‘s Fall 2018 Classics Collection titled Four Seasons: The Art of Hospitality.

“It is the perfection that’s just there that you take for granted,” says Monreal. “True luxury is in the things you don’t notice or see. Of course, I experienced the stunning Four Seasons properties, but it was the warmth of the welcoming people, compounded by the lifetime of memories they create for their guests, that inspired the artworks found in this book – artworks that vividly portray the power of human connection, the potent significance of each personal story.”

“Spanish painter Ignasi Monreal is seeing double Gs everywhere,”. wrote vogue. “The artist has spent the last few years working alongside Alessandro Michele to create public and digital advertising campaigns for Gucci that feature runway clothes depicted in Renaissance-style portraiture. “For the Spring 2018 images, I was working for several months straight, 14 hours a day with no free weekends,” Monreal explains. “So by the end of it I was literally having Gucci hallucinations.”

From Hong Kong to Florence, Paris to St. Petersburg, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, one of the world’s leading luxury hospitality companies, has earned its reputation through extraordinary experiences delivered by extraordinary people.

“It is no small task to capture the spirit of our iconic brand through art, and Ignasi has done so beautifully. Through this book, I hope people are transported to the beautiful places of Four Seasons, and are inspired by these stories to create and craft their own memorable moments,” said Christian Clerc, President, Worldwide Hotel Operations, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.

“Ignasi’s unique approach to digital art combines traditional art forms with modern technology to express the timelessness of personal connections and the power of the Four Seasons story,” notes Clerc. “We are honoured to work with him and privileged to be the subject of Assouline’s celebration of luxury, culture, and lifestyle. Four Seasons: The Art of Hospitality is a testament to their vision and a one-of-a-kind addition to any library.”
