The Officine Saffi Award, now in its fourth edition, is a biennial award that promotes ceramics in contemporary culture. Works by 45 finalist artists, coming from over 16 countries, will be on exhibition from September 7th to November 7th, 2021, in Milan.

Installations, objects, sculptures, and research projects will be on display at an exhibition where the world of contemporary art meets collectible design and high-level international craftsmanship. This important exhibition will bring together the most exciting research on ceramics in two locations: the Officine Saffi Gallery (via Saffi 7) and a new exhibition space located in Piazza Virgilio 4.

Officine Saffi awards those artists who have chosen ceramics as their main expressive language for a research between contemporary art,
collectable design and craft. €10,000 up for grabs, along with 8 Residency Prizes, and 1 Acquisition Prize for Young Artists.

Along with the main section, FOCUS: DENMARK is a curated section focused on Danish Artists, in collaboration with the Danish Arts Foundation. Five artists will be in the running to win any of the prizes on offer, in addition to the special section prize: a solo show, accompanied by a catalogue, to take place during the course of 2022.

In conjunction with the Salone del Mobile (Milan Furniture Fair), all 45 finalists’ works will be exhibited in September 2021 at Officine Saffi and in a new exhibition space in Piazza Virgilio, Milan.
