Wellbeing in a tropical destination: The Westin Turtle Bay Resort, Mauritius

Mauritius has a new hotel which will send guests home feeling much better and revived than when they arrived. The world-renowned Westin hospitality brand debuts in Mauritius with the opening of The Westin Turtle Bay Resort & Spa, Mauritius. Nestled in lush tropical gardens, the resort enjoys a pristine beachfront location in the historic Turtle Bay of Balaclava on the North West coast of the island.

The Westin Turtle Bay is the third Starwood hotel to open in Mauritius after the St. Regis Mauritius Resort located on the world-famous ‘One Eye’ kite-surfing spot and the beaches of the UNESCO World Heritage site of Le Morne, and Le Méridien Ile Maurice, situated on the North West coast bay of Pointe Aux Piments.

The resort is located only 15 kilometres from the island’s hub, Grand Baie, which is known for its shopping, restaurants, bars and nightlife and 15 kilometres from Port-Louis, the island’s capital.

Set on over 10 hectares of land, the resort’s 190 guest rooms, including 38 suites, have been designed to embrace the natural beauty of the island’s unique scenery. All rooms feature the latest in-room technology as well as the renowned Westin Heavenly Bed, Heavenly Bath with rainforest shower and exclusive White Tea Aloe bath amenities, and Heavenly Robe. Guests can find total relaxation at the Heavenly Spa by Westin, offering an array of indulgent treatments dedicated to well-being. The resort also offers the signature Westin Executive Club Lounge for exclusive access to the Westin Club along with complimentary breakfast, evening snacks and beverages.

The property offers a variety of food and beverage outlets including the all-day dining restaurant Seasonal Tastes and the beach club Mystique, both of which feature the Westin brand’s signature SuperfoodsRx menu items with exceptional food combinations rich in nutrients and flavour. The hotel also boasts three a-la-carte restaurants: Kangan, serving cuisine with an exciting and authentic Indian flare; Fusion, an “east meets west” style restaurant with strong local culinary influences and the relaxed and fun Beach Grill, positioned right on the ocean’s edge serving a variety of fresh seafood and succulent meats cooked on open BBQ’s. In addition, the hotel produces local honey from its own beehives and sources fresh herbs from its garden helping infuse healthy meals to the guest experience.
