Conceived and curated by visionary entrepreneur Ian Schrager, in collaboration with the hotel owners Statuto Group, this intimate 91-room boutique hotel sets a new standard in Rome’s hospitality scene. With its meticulous attention to detail, refined aesthetics, and sophisticated design, The Rome EDITION is destined to become a meeting place for both Romans and discerning travelers alike.

Situated in one of Rome’s most coveted locations, just steps away from the iconic Via Veneto, The Rome EDITION embraces the essence of Italian flair. This legendary street, immortalized in the classic film “La Dolce Vita,” epitomizes the grandeur and charm of Italy. Moreover, the hotel’s prime location provides convenient access to major attractions such as Piazza Barberini, the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, and the breathtaking Borghese Gardens.

Housed in a historic building constructed in the 1940s, which once served as one of Italy’s main banks, The Rome EDITION exudes timeless elegance.

The architectural marvel, designed by Cesare Pascoletti in collaboration with renowned architect Marcello Piacentini, showcases the rationalist style prevalent during that era. The central staircase, adorned with rare cipollino marble sourced from the quarries of Apuane, stands as a testament to the genius of its creators. The hotel meticulously preserves the original features, including central courtyards, statues, and lamps, adding a touch of history to its contemporary allure.

The Rome EDITION boasts an array of exquisite amenities, including three distinctive bars, a rooftop lounge, a show-kitchen restaurant, a well-appointed urban wellness space with a gym and treatment rooms, and a picturesque courtyard garden. Guests can indulge in their favorite drinks while basking in the charm of the garden or savoring delectable cuisine from acclaimed Roman Chef Paola Colucci, the hotel’s esteemed culinary partner. With a range of 91 elegantly designed rooms, including 17 suites, The Rome EDITION epitomizes the brand’s renowned design elements, with muted tones, walnut wood accents, and stunning custom-designed furniture.

In a city renowned for its culinary delights, The Rome EDITION pays homage to Rome’s food culture by selecting a chef who truly embodies the essence of the city. Paola Colucci, the self-taught founder of the beloved Roman restaurant Pianostrada, takes the helm of the hotel’s dining offerings.

Colucci, a firm believer in the emotional power of food and the importance of guest interaction, has designed Anima, the signature restaurant at The Rome EDITION, to feature an open-fronted kitchen enclosed in ambered glass. This innovative design allows guests to admire Chef Colucci’s artistry firsthand. Drawing inspiration from her family’s generational recipes, Colucci’s menu offers traditional Italian dishes with a modern twist and an international perspective.

At The Rome EDITION, seasonal and fresh ingredients take center stage.

Anima, Chef Colucci’s culinary sanctuary, promises guests an unforgettable dining experience with dishes like spaghetti with roasted tomatoes and veal with tuna sauce, as well as the finest tomato and burrata in Italy. The restaurant’s wine selection emphasizes Italian wines while also featuring choices from other countries, all thoughtfully paired with the menu’s offerings. With its light-filled ambiance, adorned with chartreuse and blue upholstered furniture, Anima is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, inviting guests to embark on a gastronomic journey through the heart of Rome.

The hotel’s expansive garden, a rarity in the city, serves as a piazza and dining space, welcoming guests to the unfolding acts of the hotel like scenes from an opera. This indoor-outdoor oasis boasts over 400 lush plants, with cascading jasmine vines adding a touch of romance to the facade. An Italianate arrangement of lanterns, along with teak wood banquettes and free-standing furniture, creates an atmosphere reminiscent of a traditional Roman garden. The Garden provides outdoor seating for Anima on one side and a relaxed all-day terrace on the other, offering a menu of light dishes throughout the day and into the late evening. Featuring beloved classics and innovative creations, the menu is accompanied by a modernist cocktail list inspired by Italian gardens and the Mediterranean.

As is customary with all EDITION hotels, The Lobby serves as the social heart of the property, setting the tone for the guest experience.

With its dramatic 22-foot-high ceilings, porous travertine floors, and walls, The Lobby is a space that captivates both Romans and travelers. Two symmetrical seating arrangements serve as the central axis, with custom fabric sofas and coffee tables inspired by Manuel Coltri, alongside petrified wood side tables and standing lamps. The Lobby epitomizes the dynamic nature of EDITION, offering a place to relax, socialize, and even play a few games of pool on the custom-made table.

Located on the ground floor, The Rome EDITION features two unique bars that set new standards in mixology: Punch Room and Jade Bar. The award-winning Punch Room, inspired by 17th-century speakeasies, pays homage to traditional punch recipes infused with modern twists. The dark walnut wood bar, complemented by a Rosso Levanto marble fireplace and custom armchairs in rosewood and dark brown leather, exudes an atmosphere of relaxation, where guests can unwind and explore punch cocktails that reflect the influence of the Roman Empire. On the other hand, Jade Bar is an intimate mixology destination designed to captivate true connoisseurs and aficionados. Using advanced techniques, the bar creates a kaleidoscope of cocktails crafted from a limited range of spirits and seasonal ingredients, resulting in a changing gallery of flavors throughout the year. The intimate space, adorned with floor-to-ceiling green antique marble, accents of satin brass, and gold, invites guests to unwind on emerald velvet banquettes while admiring Jeff Koons-inspired sculptural pieces.

Ascending to the seventh floor, guests are welcomed to The Roof, a secluded spot offering panoramic views of Rome’s skyline and iconic landmarks such as the Pantheon, Acqua Paola Fountain, and Basilica of Sant’Andrea della Valle.

Here, a large bar area awaits, accompanied by a travertine plunge pool surrounded by daybeds crafted from solid oiled teak. Custom bronze metal vases dot the terrace’s periphery, adding a touch of elegance. The Roof provides the perfect setting to unwind with a refreshing drink or enjoy raw and cooked dishes inspired by Chef Colucci’s love for the Mediterranean Sea. The cocktails served here celebrate regional citrus notes, herbs, and amari, showcasing the essence of Italian mixology.

The guestrooms at The Rome EDITION embrace the brand’s renowned design aesthetics while incorporating a distinctive Italian touch. Custom-designed beds crafted from Canaletto light walnut wood and expansive windows that frame quintessentially Italian views take center stage. Peperino stone and custom bedside tables reflect the city’s unique character, while singular Italian artwork adorns the walls. Each room boasts a beige leather custom-made chair, walnut wood herringbone flooring, and a 55-inch television. The bathrooms feature a custom Carrara marble basin resting on walnut wood, brushed brass fixtures, and the signature EDITION Le Labo amenities.
