Cantiere del Pardo, a leader in quality and performance boat construction, specially with this new GS58 performance, is bringing a fresh new air, not only to the shipyard but also to the boat industry, believing that sailing takes a new route towards a promising future.

The new Grand Soleil 58 Performance is the result of a perfect triangle between Cantiere del Pardo’s technical department’s ‘know how’, the worldwide design leaders Nauta Design, which fine-tuned the interior & exterior design and the international well known Naval architecture studio Felci Yachts Design.

“The new GS58 performance project started at the beginning of 2015 yet it didn’t stop 7 different owners from signing the first 7 hulls on paper! An excellent achievement for the shipyard which makes us very proud,” said the shipyard.

Cantiere del Pardo asked Nauta Design to design a boat that would recreate a superyacht’s level of comfort and project quality on an eighteen-meter yacht. The result is the new Grand Soleil 58, a yacht that combines a wide and sporty transom area with a truly exceptional level of interior
customization options. The most important feature of the Grand Soleil 58 compared to other yachts in her size range is her large and open aft area. The wide transom ensures easy maneuvering with helms and winches kept well separate from the guest cockpit, and smooth movement through the water. The same aft area does double duty as an excellent and spacious place for relaxing and sunbathing while at anchor and gives the yacht the aggressive and sporty look that says Grand Soleil.

Careful study was devoted to the 58’s interiors, which can be mounted in a range of different layouts thanks to a modular planning system. There are two different saloon options: galley forward in the salon or the more traditional galley port just beside the entrance; the owner’s cabin can feature a double bed placed centrally or to port.

The deck provides different solutions to satisfy various needs. It is possible to choose a self tacking jib or 2 side tracks, fixed main sheet point or electric traveler, upgraded winches, optional carbon bow sprit, full hard deck equipment for fast cruising or racing, two solutions for cockpit tables, flush Sprayhood when not in use, carbon or hydraulic gangway, tender garage and many more.

All of these solutions have been studied in order to have a performance boat with no compromises, keeping the weight under constant control using also new lighter composite materials for the furniture and flooring and GRP for the construction of the main bulkheads. In this way individual owners can decide what suits him best.

The hull has been studied not only for sailing but also for comfort. The large stern provides a big tender garage with storage area, behind 2 wide aft cabins with plenty of headroom and are not interrupted by the dinghy or intruding cockpit forms. Both cabins can provide 2 separate beds or
one king size bed. Each stern cabin has its own comfortable head. The VIP head is also used as a day head with a stall shower and can also be transformed into a 4th guest cabin on request.

The enormous and open dinette provides 2 layouts to choose from; a classic L shape kitchen near the entrance or a larger kitchen version near the mast for those who like to enjoy an open layout. Both dinettes provide many storage spaces which can be transformed into extra refrigerators, freezers, wine cooler, ice maker, dish washer, washing-drying machine and more.

During the design process, the plans were also studied carefully to allow for ease of maintenance as well as the possibility to upgrade systems. The engine room can fit different sizes and suppliers as well as the generator bay. It is possible to install a water maker, air conditioning system, heating system, extra fuel and water tanks, black water in each cabin, TV, bow/stern thruster and more.
