Coloratura: the new Cartier High Jewellery Collection is a sensorial exploration of colour

Cartier Coloratura: the new Cartier High Jewellery Collection celebrates virtuoso voices.

With the vibrant contrast between rubellites and moonstones, Monica Bellucci enters the Cartier High Jewelry Gala at the Louvre in the new Coloratura Collection necklace, ring and earrings. A unique combination of colors: coral juxtaposed with black onyx and white diamonds from the new Coloratura Collection were seen on
Freida Pinto at the Coloratura event.

Colors combine, horizons meet. Together they compose a dynamic score. A glimmering bracelet reveals a watch inside. Cartier’s creative vision of jewelry ascribes time to a higher dimension. Like notes in a score, blue tourmalines, green chrysoberyls and red rubellites converge to create an exuberant pairing. Emeralds, spinels, mandarin garnets, turquoises and diamonds refract sparkling contrasts.

The sky meets the Earth, and the colors combine. The bold contrasts of Asia and the East, the subtle palettes of Japan, the powerful shades of India, and the animal tones of Africa: Cartier’s colors have evolved over the course of these encounters, rendered more and more stunning by the multiplicity of its creative expressions.

“The more simple a piece looks, the more difficult it is to make,” Jacqueline Karachi, Cartier’s head of high jewellery design told thetelegraph. “Every bead is different because they are carved by hand, so making this very regular design with irregular stones was a huge challenge. But the end result seems to come alive.”

As vogue.com notes, “The high jewelry on display—in addition to the vitrines, mannequins in ball gowns also flaunt jewels—offers the unexpected color combinations the maison is justly famous for, along with a number of clever pieces that can be worn in multiple ways: necklaces deconstruct into bracelets; headbands transform into necklaces. Many of the works on display are influenced by the aesthetic of the Far East, a Cartier fascination that dates back to the earliest years of the company.”

“A fresher version of the Tutti Frutti style is the Holika ring in white gold, with a 15.05-carat cushion-shaped red rubellite, enhanced by blue tourmaline and chrysoberyl beads. The delightful color combination is also found in the three remaining pieces of this demi-suite—its matching earrings and bracelet,” news.artnet wrote about the launch of the Coloratura high jewelry collection.

Cartier also unveils, notes forbes, an exceptional suite inspired by the brands color combinations used in jewels of the early 20th century. In this suite, the brand combines black and green – using lush tourmalines, rich green opals and black onyx or lacquer for striking beauty. Much like Cartier’s superb art deco jewels of that
century, this new suite features geometric appeal, with angled, rectangular and square motifs paired with round shapes.

“At the exclusive unveiling event at the Cour Carre’ at the Louvre, Cartier built a special structure, held a classical and contemporary music concert, as well as dancers. In attendance were celebrity guests including English actress Naomi Watts, Italian actress Monica Bellucci, and French actress and director Mélanie Laurent, and the evening ended with a performance by singer Dua Lipa,” added forbes.com.
